awake, lost my voice, but I'm here. dwyer's doing awesome so far in sales. the line to get in is once again down the block and around the corner. it's 1:30 and this place is already packed and getting stemy! looks like we are in for probably the best, biggestam and most well attended fest. so far, the only thing to go wrong was for a rat. that was sort of a downer. when carina and I were checking in, there was a guy with a dying rat outside trying to nurse it back to health. I know this is all death and songs about raping, killing babies, and dogs eating girls out, but if watching the last moments of a suffering animal's life and feeling bad makes me a poser. well then, I guess I'm a poser.

saprogenic: filthy vokills. The whole band sounded so tight. Especially the drummer. I'm pretty sure they wrote these songs with a drum machine and then got a guy to play them just like a drum machine. I think even the kids that are down with the whole "deathcore" thing will be really into this band. Damn, while I was typing that the singer went down into the crowd and I missed it. There must have been a juggalos show here not too long ago. I keep seeing glitter fallling down from the cieling.

foetopsy: minimal band, but not quite as minimal as putrid pile who btw came out and same a song with them. But they were just the guitarist, singer with 2 mics, and a drummer who had 2 cymbols, a snare, and a set of kick triggers. The best (or the worst) part was the singer. Tons of stage charisma. He told the story of each song before they played it. he also showered the crowd with tampons. hm.. maybe he (sea captain's voice) tampooned them? song idea? huh? ok, just credit me and we will call it even.

I'm talking in my radio voice, that's why. my normal voice is gone.

flagitious idiosyncrasy in the dilapidation: after the most rediculous sound check from hell where they not only did 2 songs, but all commands had to go through an interpreter, they finally started. they were awesome. There was a lot of hype about this band before the show. Probably because 4 japanese girls are making rip-your-face-off grind. The crowd was absolutly packed for them. In the middle of their set, they treated us to a painful tune up session where the singer admited that she couldn't pronounce their name. I would have typed some song titles down, but they were all japanese letters.

fid's singer's vocals were insane.

nunwhore commando 666: I know a lot of people took this time to run off and get food. The band was ok, but the stagge antics were were it was at. The singer was rolling around the floor most of the time. People from off stage spanked him, hog tied him, stole his mic,and dumped beer on him. I was like a big prank on him. The whole thing was in greman. The drum machine was more electronic than the berzerker. Ton of blips, beeps, synths from the 80's and samples. The vocals were so altered that you couldn't understand a word, but anyone who grabbed the mic and did anything into it sounded like the singer.

gorod: surely one of the best bands around. they mix cryptopsy and jazz. If they would just start rapping, they would be the candiria of death metal. Please, don't start rapping. I knew there was a lady in the band, but I didn't know it was the drummer. Weirder than a female drummer was the singer's donky kong jump. picture a person doing a donky kong jump. Funny? Well now, picture dave attel doing it. Yeah, that's what it was like.

skitsystem: I'd seen one of the dudes kicking around since the moment we got here. I was told that thomas lindberg was in this band. It definitely smacked of his hands. The sound at least. With the two singers it was very full sounding. Crowd surfing really picked up during their set.

cock and ball torture: I missed the first few songs, but I gotta say, all pitchshifted vocals bands simply pale in comparison with this band. In all honesty, CBT was the reason I was excited to come to this show and I wasn't let down in the least. Both the guitarist and bassist use pitchshifted mics and talked through them between songs. This has the effect (for those of you who don't know CBT) of the unintelligaible moster voices from you nightmares. The crowd was worked up into a frenzey. Of course security wasn't ready for it and body hit the video guy beside me and crumped on the floor. He laid there for a good 30 seconds not moving before the security came over. They picked him up and blood streamed out of his head. I should have probably helped or at leasted taken a picture, but I was tm carina about how she shouldn't listen to anyone about there being too many crowd surfers. not irnoic, but coincidental.

so far, dwyer's sold almost as much in 6 hours as he did all last year. maybe the bush tax plan is working out.

rotten sound: the floor was cleared out after CBT, surprising me since rotten sound was on next. By the time they got into it, the crowd was full again. I was curious which costume we would get this time. It turns out their outfit was a warlord outfit. Warlord as in the shirt company run by phobias last bassist. The sound was sick for them. and they even busted out 2 older tracks.

gorotted: they had another huge set up time. I'm not sure how all these bands are taking so long to set up and then playing for so long. I'll have to look to see if the fest is still on time. Last I looked it was only a respectible 15 minutes behind. The singer came out and whined a bit about being old, but then thanked MDF for being the first to get them to the states. the set was sicker than I would have expected. The set plays a little more punk-crust than the CD's gore.

general surgery: I wanted to say "ha ha" the whole set cause the guys in GS looked like they got salt in their eyes, but it was all the fake blood. When I got to the front, everyone was sort of sitting down in the photopit. It was weird. I wondered if they were spraying blood or something at the crowd. They played a couple songs that I knew from the 1 CD I have.

i would have liked to see them. although the newest album wasn't that great in my opinion compared to tools and corpses.

vomitory: I almost never thought I was going to see these guys, like ever. they didn't really sound like their CDs. still, it was thick and the 2 guitar players really added a lot. They played back and forth with each other so neither was playing all the riffs. The bassist was just a mass of hair and it barely parted for him to sing through.

extreme noise terror: this was so much better than the show in cambridge. They got 45 minutes ta git it dun. With the one singer there, it sounded more like napalm death than ever. his english accent and all sounded like barny. It was also better cause they got like 45 minutes to play. Oh and I don't think they played anything of damage 381. Not that I recognized.

looks like the singer from the all girl band doesnt know how to scream. she double cups everything. not that i know shit about vocals but ive heard that pretty much anyone can do low growls if they double cup the mic when they scream.
