I used to play an ibanez... you can find pictures of it on here... I was in a band called Fall of Decrepitude, and am in a band called Ravage.. Both bands you can find me with my ibanez.

Your not kidding. When I found out that my bass was made of a close relative of Pine that grows near Korea where the thing was made.. I was pissed. Shitty piece of wood+heavy paint job(so-so pickups)= my ibanez bass.
My friend actually dropped the bass while it was in the case.. upon further inspection I realized that it didn't look like any wood I have ever seend before. I had to really look at the gaping hole to see the grains of the wood.. I later found a wood that looked exactly like it. It is called agathis. Total rip off, I paid 800 dollars for this bass.

Id put em up against any other string.

My latest bass that I bought has a body made of alder with a quilted maple top. The neck is a maple/mahogany laminate. Rosewood fingerboard. It plays beautifully and sounds better. Kahler bridge, dual truss rod, gotoh tuners.
I sure did learn my lesson from that bass. And I don't take much responsiblity for that short coming. I had only been playing for 2 years at the time and I went into guitar center. The only thing I knew is that had that amount of money to spend and I was looking for a 5 string.
I think the people at Guitar Center should know thier shit about guitars, and care a little more about they are selling people. That price tag should not have been on that thing considering what it was made of in the first place. :wiggam:

actually, i've retired D'addario strings and now use either DR High Beams or Fodera Diamond bass strings. i've used D'addario for years, and they beat the shit out of most other strings like GHS and Dean Markley, but they still died to quickly. i've had these DR strings on for well over a month now, and my bass still sounds fantastic. damn, i need to start getting endorsements

Ya , Kalops....I honestly dont know as much about bass strings, but I KILL strings so fast, that I dont know if spending 20 bucks instead of 5 would benefit me that much.
Im one of the 5% of guitarists with the acidic sweat in my hands, I dunno if any of you have ever heard of this, but its a little known phenomenon, that really exists.
I can deaden a strings tone by playing 6 notes.
Kinda sucks.

Id love to try Fodera strings but havent yet, but as for DRs I am a faithful user and havent found another brand I like as much.
For my four string I use Bootsy Collins Signature Bootzillas (coated)
and for my 5 I use hi-beams.

basically what i want to do is take a group shot of people who play an ibanez instrument.
ibanez didn't ask me to do it, however, i've worked for them and will be working with them again at this year's Ozzfest.
i figured if i could get a cool group shot...i'd then get everyone's full name, band name and where the band is from and send it to them
maybe they'll want to use it or something...i figured it would be nice to do it for ibanez AND the people in the photo (great advertising/marketing for yer band) who knows maybe you'll get sponsored
worst case scenario..i'll put it on my portfolio site along with the other one i did for them ...
ok so a group shot with your ibanez, it shouldn't look beat up though, in case they wanna use it, they wanna see them all purdy and stuff and then i'll take individual shots too. Obviously, if you want copies of the pics, no problem.
