Hmmmm so Jarrods charges you?[views:4862][posts:15]_________________________________ [Aug 18,2004 4:33pm - Lincoln ""] Whats this all about anyhow? I know Jarrods doesn't have too many fans on this board but is this the cause for all the animosity? He charges $50 per band to play his little club? What do you people think?? |
______________________________ [Aug 18,2004 4:35pm - Blue ""] he charges people to play his club now??????? give me a break. thats a ripoff. it was bad enough that you had to sell tickets before. |
_________________________________ [Aug 18,2004 4:37pm - Lincoln ""] Well he's claiming thats how you can make your money back....by selling tickets...is he worried about something? I thought this was ridiculous. We were going to play there but $50 to play? Thats obsurd. |
______________________________ [Aug 18,2004 4:38pm - Blue ""] he is worried about people not coming to his club, because he knows hes got a bad reputation. ask jim, im sure hell have something to say about the place. |
_________________________________________________ [Aug 18,2004 4:40pm - the_taste_of_cigarettes ""] for $50 a band, we could all A) rent a hall B) chip in and start a fund towards opening our space C) Do the show elsewhere and pay for an awesome headliner to come from out of state D) pay enough to stick a dick in Jarrod's face and make him smoke it charging bands has always been a big outrage for me. It is indescribably unethical. |

_________________________________ [Aug 18,2004 4:43pm - Lincoln ""] Yeah see I've never been charged unless you had to sell tickets to a show. 9 times out of 10 you end up losing out with that too. We played there once before and he had one of his workers there tell him we never showed up..thus banning us from the club for like 2 years. Nice huh? |
______________________________ [Aug 18,2004 4:45pm - Blue ""] thats jarrods for ya, horrible business practices. for an example, see JARRODS FEST 2003. |
_________________________________ [Aug 18,2004 4:47pm - Lincoln ""] What happened at JARRODS FEST 2003? I guess I was out of the loop...never heard of it...or is that just it? |
___________________________________ [Aug 18,2004 4:48pm - Jellyfish ""] Im cool with going there if theres a good show, but Im not a fan of the boucers. Totally unprofessional. |
______________________________ [Aug 18,2004 4:50pm - Blue ""] i set up jarrods fest. its a long story, but it basically goes down to this: they do not stay on top of matters, and their bouncers do suck. |
_________________________________________________ [Aug 18,2004 4:51pm - the_taste_of_cigarettes ""] hey guys see the post about working together to start a new place? good idea? friendly bouncers? |
_________________________________ [Aug 18,2004 4:54pm - Lincoln ""] Bouncers don't really have to be friendly....but Jarrods isn't a bad place to play. It's too bad he charges now. I do think thats obsurd....but other than that yes it's a good place to see a good show...I saw Clutch there on Valentines day....blew me away. |
___________________________________ [Aug 21,2004 6:38pm - SUBJUGATE ""] i cannot belive he is so hard up he needs to charge bands money upfront to play there any band that pays him $50 to play there is 1. very VERY stupid 2. not worth my time ever to deal with 3. if you wanna throw away $50 e mail me and i'll let you know where to mail it i could use the money if this guys business is hurting that bad close and let somone with a clue run it |
___________________________________ [Aug 21,2004 6:52pm - Jellyfish ""] Lincoln said:Bouncers don't really have to be friendly.... true, but they should be professional. Bouncers participating in mosh pits isnt exactly what comes to mind. Acting like an asshole and pushing kids half your size around when youre suppoed to be protecting them isnt what comes to mind. |
