______________________________________ [Jun 14,2014 12:26pm - ParahSalin ""] After a long five year slumber, the four Sleepers have awakened to once again witness the witnessing of the witnessor. Palace In Thunderland is a both a state of mind and a brotherhood; a meditation on the freedoms of individuality and a declaration of unity; a paradoxical entity dedicated to exploring the sonic revelations that erupt spontaneously from the true realms of silence within both the infinite spaces of the universe and the deep recesses of the human spirit. Palace In Thunderland channels these raw, primal emanations into cosmic hymns posing the most abstract questions and drawing the most fantastic conclusions about existence and reality. The eccentric fuzz-driven four piece is putting the final touches on their latest offering of melodic riffs and energized hooks, a demo EP called Stars, Dreams, Seas. The EP consists of three new tracks of the band's most immediate, eclectic, and energized material to date. The track listing includes the "Beyond The Stars, "Awakened Dream", and "The Distant Shore." The release will be made available digitally on December 22nd, with limited CD hardcopies, and of course the possibility of other formats at some future date. The veritable supergroup features Andy Beresky, whose visionary songwriting, entheogenic guitar licks, and otherworldly vocals formed the basis for Black Pyramid, and Monte Newman, whose searing lead guitar work, muscular riffs, and melodic vocals laid the groundwork for space riffers HydroElectric. The rhythm section of Adam Abrams on bass/keyboards, and Matt Netto on drums/vocals, both from the progressive doom act Blue Aside, provides the shifting structures and dynamic backdrops for the impressive diversity of styles displayed over the course of only three songs. "The new stuff is a more mature version of what we wish we could have accomplished in the past," commented guitarist/vocalist Monte Newman when asked about the material from the EP. "It travels, we cover a lot of ground in three songs. I feel we have gone back to our roots, fully developed what was down there buried, and now the bounty of our labors is something different and more exciting than anything we've ever been. We're utilizing various forms of our past incarnations to forge an identity in the future. Will this make any sense? Probably not, but listening to it all might. " Andy Beresky cryptically stated when asked to discuss his thoughts and feelings on the recording. You need to find out what Gary Busey, Crispin Glover, and Jimmy Hoffa already know. More details to come, very soon... |

______________________________ [Jun 14,2014 4:47pm - Lamp ""] A.J. Nystrom is The Nytro Drummer. A true spark plug behind the kit with a no-nonsense work ethic and an insatiable drive to be the best drummer in the world, Nystrom brings years of experience in the studio and on stage to whomever has the privilege of working with him. Practicing on average of 2 to 3 hours per day, "Nytro" is a true believer in the phrase "the harder you work, the luckier you get." Nystrom grew up in the city of Taunton, Massachusetts about 40 minutes southeast of Boston. He began taking formal drum lessons at age 9 under the tutelage of Mark Roscoe- a student, himself, of the incomparable Billy Flanagan who also taught one Steve Smith of Journey and Vital Information fame. "The bug," as it is known, bit A.J. during his sophomore year when he performed a drum solo for the Fine Arts Rally held the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. After his performance to the Senior and Sophomore classes he received a thunderous ovation from teachers and students alike. At that point he knew that he wanted to perform for a living. A.J. Nystrom started and performed with a handful of bands that would take him into the recording studio and on the road for club gigs, battles of the bands, and even an appearance on a college TV station to perform an acoustic set. During that time, a guitarist commented about how explosive Nystrom was behind the set. The bassist of the band quickly came up with the nickname "Nytro" as a play on words referring to the unstable nature of nitroglycerine, which was used in dynamite. Currently, Nystrom is battling his way back into the music scene after a 2+ year hiatus to focus on his day job. A.J. is focused, refreshed, and committed to making music his day job, night job, and only job. Nytro is willing and able to perform a large variety of music but his passion and forte lie in the progressive, hard rock, and metal genres. A.J. Nystrom is available for your recording sessions and live performance needs. www.facebook.com/a.j.nystromofficial |

_________________________________ [Jul 2,2014 4:37pm - Nli_guy ""] “I’ve never seen that before...” this is the phrase echoing from the mouths of new fans across the country following Nothing More’s first national tour in the spring of 2013. Nothing More doesn’t take the stage, they storm it. Alternating between enormous rock anthems full of technical precision and four man percussion assaults, there is nothing pedestrian about this band. Welded from discarded truck and motorcycle parts, lead singer Jonny Hawkins’ percussion platform serves as a de-facto drum kit for Hawkins to accentuate and expertly pound rhythms in tandem with drummer Paul OBrien. From the gut-wrenching, yet sonically distinct riffs of guitarist, Mark Vollelunga, to the thundering and melodic bass of Daniel Oliver or Hawkins’ commanding presence and charismatic delivery of sing-along lyrics that are impossible to ignore; Nothing More is a fierce, snarling juggernaut that holds anyone within earshot or eyeshot hostage until the very last note. “Before we had even started touring we knew that we wanted to do more than just play our songs. We want to create a show that no one has ever seen and we want to really connect with people in a unique way.” – Jonny Hawkins Nothing More’s new, self-titled album (June 11, 2013) is just the thing to match the intensity and depth of the live show. The seventeen songs are artistically landscaped and woven together with vast, dynamic musicality. Brutally honest in its lyrics and poignant in its delivery, Nothing More are as equally at home graphically depicting scenes of infidelity in “Sex and Lies” as they are in tackling society’s most controversial issues in songs like “Christ Copyright”. “To think you know who goes to heaven - Is just one big misconception - Like God hates fags and communism - Create fear to feed the system” – Christ Copyright As the listener churns through the tracks, rather than being transported with idealistic escapism, they are transformed by experiencing reality through the eyes of Nothing More. Even when confronting the darkest of subjects as they do on “Ballast”, Nothing More never fails to remind us of the light within that can never be extinguished. “This is the time that we let it go - These are the words that will take us home - Singing the song that’s inside us all - If we don’t open our eyes, we’re walking blind” --Ballast From their humble beginnings in Texas, Nothing More answered the call to serve in the militia of independent touring artists. Knowing that it would take creativity, brains and balls to make their own destiny in this world, they armed themselves with the relentless intensity of their live show and with lyrics that connect on the deepest level. They have mastered the DIY philosophy in every imaginable way, even converting their van to run on recycled veggie oil. Now, with two full length releases and more than 500 shows under their belts, and new fans being won every day, one thing that’s certain for Nothing More is that Do It Yourself doesn’t mean doing it alone. |

So many bios mention nothing about the bands music, just their "drive to succeed and connect with the fans" how do you have fans if your music sucks? |
