the mighty GUT BUCKET[views:2385][posts:18]______________________________________ [May 21,2014 10:17am - George1991 ""] Kenny Ruhle's vocals are perfect. the sound of the bass guitars are perfect. One a bit higher pitched than the other one, providing contrast, both distorted and nasty. When they break into those fast grinding sections, the already ultra violent atmosphere turns to maximum violence when Josh Weedon's disgusting screams get into sync with Kenny Ruhle's downright insulting, tormenting, defaming death growls - utter bliss. I am happy that I got to see them when they first came out around 05' I think it was; and several times thereafter. They were a unique band because they offered two bass guitars without lead guitar and their songs were catchy and to the point without any needless wankery, this was all about brutal Death Metal savagry. I never get the urge to fast forward through their songs because they don't stick around long enough to get boring. I pound my fist and dance around to the bouncing bass riffs that were the product of 3 guys who lived the scene when it was Autopsy, Incantation, Entombed, Pungent Stench, RI Deathfests, WRIU radio etc. in the late 80's and 90's at the zenith of Death Metal in my opinion. And that's another reason why they rule, because they grew from bands like Headrot and they always had perfect influences. I looked them up and found that they still exist in a new form but I haven't heard much from them these days. I feel some satisfaction to know of this amazing band who hardly anyone outside of New England ever will. Tons of bands on Relapse that play a somewhat similar style but aren't half as good in my opinion. I will always have my green Gut Bucket Frankenstein t-shirt, hat, and cd's from them so I can celebrate them whenever. One more thing to mention in my utter worship of this band. Mention must be made of Skip Bradshaw. The guy was an absolute monster on the drum kit. I never saw a guy that hit harder live and he fit the groovy violence of this band like a glove. It's glorious to have a stereo with good bass and a subwoofer and fucking crank this shit! Long live GUT BUCKET!:doublehorns: |

Live rap is weird, but I did get to see a black kid roll a blunt in his palm in about 1 minute flat. |

Bob from the TIME CAPSULE comic store can confirm this. There is plenty of images of GSS live carrying and playing with this coffin on stage amongst other relics not many people cared to inquire about. Many a night was spent in Rocky Point playing with magic... |
