BANE OF EXISTENCE Humanity’s.Splinterd.Salvation baneofexistence.com What do you say about a CD that takes you to the depths of hell and introduces you to Satan? You say thank you Bane Of Existence, may I please have some more. “Humanity’s.Splintered.Salvation” is one of those death metal records that I wish wouldn’t end. I think I listened to it for over a week straight when I first got it. Track #1, “From Soiled Heart To Infected Tongue,” is by far my favorite, and not only because of the name. BOE uses voice samples in such an evil way for intros to Track #3, “The Approaching,” and Track #4, “Denounced,” that I had nightmares. Other noteworthy tracks would be #6, “Iconoclast” and #9, “Cankerous.” O.K., so I named most of the tracks, that should tell you to get Bane Of Existence’s, “Humanity’s.Splintered.Salvation” as soon as humanly possible. Oh yes, they are also avaiable live at many skull-bashing shows, including The Mayhen Convention on July 24th at The Worcester Palladium along with such bands as Suffocation, Mastodon, and Cannae, to name a few. Check out www.harderfaster666.com for more info and listen to Harder Faster with Mike Hsu on 107.3 FM WAAF at 11 p.m., Monday-Friday. - Metal Wench NOOSEBOMB Brain Food For The Braindead shiftyrecords.com O.K., so I had two CDs with the same drummer this issue. BOE is the first and Noosebomb is the second, a three-piece outfit, with their first release, “Brain Food For The Braindead.” Genius record title. If you are in any way a Black Sabbath fan, then this a band you should totally check out. I do mean that musically and in no way vocally at all, Noosebomb has their own take on that and it’s a good one. The first track, “Hell Bent For Retirement,” will explain it all. Noosebomb has a way of catching your ear and then taking a bite and spitting it out. Very good musicianship in this trio. They use voice samples and echos in a comical good way too. Track #4, “Multi-Facial Personality,” is my favorite and again, genius title. This is another one of those Sabbath-like metal tunes that I would put on repeat in my player. I really don’t have to say anymore except to go ahead and get Noosebomb’s, “Brain Food For the Braindead” for yourself. - Metal Wench ASCENDANCY Rise Of A Dead Empire ascendancymetal.com This CD hit me in the face on the first track, “Darkness Within.” With its sick drums and speed metal sound, what wouldn’t you like about it. The production is done well and the art on the front and back are a nice touch of evil. Track #4, “Evisceral Battery,” has pretty good guitar solos at the end. But that leads into a drum solo, over a minute long, on the beginning of Track #5, “Forever Desensitized,” that in my opinion could have been left out. The rest of the track is fine. The last track, “No Fear With A Deathwish” is very nice. The beginning sounds like a death march coming to get you, and then the vocals break, then it goes back to a maximum velocity death march. Good way to end a record, guys. All in all I would have to say that Ascendancy’s “Rise Of A Dead Empire” is an embodiment of metal. - Metal Wench http://www.soundcheckmag.net/pages/foundry.html
