[img] STRONG INTENTION - Razorblade Express EP (Out June 2012) Maryland bands never fall short on extremity. Since the mid-‘90s STRONG INTENTION have been punishing the underground with their own blend of New York-influenced hardcore breakdowns and blistering grindcore. Their unique sound has allowed them the longevity to play out and tour with such undisputed acts as Cripple Bastards, Disfear, Phobia, Extreme Noise Terror, Rotten Sound, D.R.I., Lock-Up and Misery Index, among others over their extensive career… and they’re just getting started. STRONG INTENTION have an extensive back-catalog of releases behind them and their latest slab of audio discontent is hardly an exception. Entitled Razorblade Express, the six-track behemoth features a bass work by Cattle Decapitation’s Derek Engemann as well as a guest appearance by Eyehategod frontman Mike IX Williams on the title track and “3rd Space Gorilla Generator.” With the first press limited to just 500 copies, this isn’t one to sleep on. Give me vinyl or give me death! Comments SI founding frontman Zac Ohler: “It’s been far too long since we put out a record, so having these six songs of ‘no hope/no future distort’ released by a killer label and having long time friend Mike IX join us in this act of terrorism seems to be the perfect fit. It’s time to rise and grind!” Razorblade Express will be released via PATAC Records on June 1, 2012. Razorblade Express Track Listing: 1. Razorblade Express (featuring Mike IX Williams) 2. Messiah Whore 3. Holes In The Wall 4. 3rd Space Gorilla Generator (featuring Mike IX Williams) 5. Rat Factory 6. Slaughter Intelligence In conjunction with the release, STRONG INTENTION will drag their filth to the stage alongside fellow grind heathens, Phobia. The East Coast Filth Tour 2012 will commence June 3 in Detroit. Check tour dates below. The band will be joined by Misery Index/Pig Destroyer drummer Adam Jarvis for the short stretch of dates: [img] STRONG INTENTION – East Coast Filth Tour 2012 w/ Phobia 6/02/2012 Sonar – Baltimore, MD w/ Marduk, 1349 * 6/03/2012 Halfway House – Detroit, MI 6/04/2012 Now that’s class – Cleveland, OH 6/05/2012 Strange matter – Richmond, VA 6/06/2012 Millcreek – Philadelphia, PA 6/07/2012 El N Gee – New London, CT 6/08/2012 Sonar – Baltimore, MD 6/09/2012 Saint Vitus – Brooklyn, NY 6/10/2012 Radio – Somerville, MA 6/11/2012 Boagie’s – Albany, NY 6/23/2012 Café 611 – Frederick, MD w/ Agnostic Front, Sheer Terror * * No Phobia http://www.facebook.com/STRONGINTENTION http://www.reverbnation.com/strongintention http://strongintention.bigcartel.com http://www.PATACRECORDS.com http://www.facebook.com/patacrecords https://twitter.com/patacrecords OUT NOW: Boston punk outfit Revilers have been kicking about on their local scene since 2008, and finally dropped debut album Revilers on Patac Records at the end of March. Containing thirteen no-holds-barred and vitriolic as heck anthems, Revilers builds on the EP’s (Isolation, Stand or Fall - both on Patac) the band have released previously and fully realises their stance on the world and how these individuals see it. Featuring words spat by two vocalists, JH and S (who can also be found wielding a guitar each), Revilers take a firm approach in their punk rock sensibilities and whilst this is a band with something clear to say, that message is never forced down your throat. A lot of politically charged bands are inclined to do that and it’s refreshing to hear a young band taking their time with their points and letting them seep into your subconscious rather than stomping them all over your face. As such, Revilers can be enjoyed on two levels - as a fast paced, crazy good fun punk rock record, or as an album with that something extra to say. “No Bullshit Reactor,” “Quit My Job” and “Sick Of Being Sick And Tired” hiding a deep dislike of “the man” behind the always welcome gang vocal chant and the occasional guitar solo - not often heard in this genre. Revilers certainly have something with this debut and never seem afraid to cross the expected boundaries. Throwing in slightly slower moments in “All Ages” or the guitar flourishes in “Negativity,” they are finding their voice in a fairly saturated market. Revilers definitely rocks hard. - Scenepointblank.com [img] BLOWFLY: BLACK IN THE SACK Born on Valentine's Day, 1939, Clarence Reid worked in the cotton fields of Georgia as a boy. He passed the time by singing dirty parodies of popular songs - "Do the Twist" became "Suck My Dick" - and when his grandmother heard what he was doing she exclaimed, "You're a disgrace to the human race, and no better than a Blowfly!" And so a legend was born. When he was 13 he hitchhiked to Miami to pursue a career in music. Clarence began singing at local record "hops" where he met many of the people he would work with throughout his career. In 1964, in exchange for studio time, he worked stacking records in the warehouse of TK Records, run by recording legend Henry Stone. By the late 60s Clarence had become the central figure in the growing Miami soul, funk and R&B music scene, writing, producing and performing on countless tracks. He wrote and produced the #1 R&B hits "Clean Up Woman" for Betty Wright and "Rockin Chair" for Gwen McCrae, and he wrote KC & The Sunshine Band's first hit, "Sound Your Funky Horn" (their first gig was at Clarence's wedding). In 1965 Clarence recorded the world's first rap song, "Rap Dirty", an epic story of Blowfly as a truck driver, driving coast to coast and battling the KKK in a redneck bar - that particular song wouldn't be released in the US until 1976 but it firmly cemented Blowfly as a pioneer in rap and hip-hop - and in 1971 he unleashed Blowfly on the world and released the first full-length Blowfly album, "The Weird World of Blowfly". Since then Clarence has written, produced, and recorded hundreds of songs, including the Blowfly classics "Porno Freak", "Shake Your Ass", "Hole Man", "Funky Party" and "Suck It". His career has outlasted all his contemporaries, the disco era and TK Records, the label powerhouse that was his home for over ten years. Blowfly continues to record, tour - in 2008 he played in front of the biggest crowds of his career - and show the world how weird it really can be. Now, in 2012; Blowfly returns with his new PATAC EP "Black In the Sack," which features his reworkings of AC/DC, Michael Jackson among other surprises.
