on the radio they said "would today's generation storm the beach?", the answer they said was no. I think the answer is yes. If we were in need of that, there would be people that would be there to storm the beach. Not me of course, but there would be people.

the answer to that question is another question, "is the war legit?"

It's funny, the lazy, druggy, hippy, yuppie, boomers like to call us apathetic as a way to make themselves feel better about accomplishing nothing but squandering our resources and leaving us in debt. They wouldn't storm the beach, not because they're ideologically pacifists, but because they're lazy whiney stoner hipsters.

Don't make a political debate out of this. They stormed the Atlantic wall and smashed, at a high cost, Hitlers Fortress Europe. My granpappy was there. He would never talk about it much. Wish he did before he died in 1988.

Baby Boomer radio people stormed nothing. Their dads stormed the beach.

They were called "The greatest generation" for a reason. They actually had balls back then to stand up for something. These days forget it. If something similar happened now like it did back in the 30's and 40's do I think we would fight? Yes, but at a higher cost do to no balls these days. These days we would fight for our Ipods, Xboxes and internetz. Back then many nations fought the war for just basic civil liberties.

Ok, so the point that you're making is obvious; BUT, it's really hard to say that a generation wouldn't fight for basic civil liberties.. because we all HAVE basic civil liberties. The reason that they fought for them is because we didn't have them.

I'm not downplaying what that generation did... the world would be a much darker place if they hadn't made such a big sacrifice. I'm just saying that you can't tell what someone will do without civil liberties until you take them away.
