Awesome old spazzy death metal. The bassist/vocalist was a girl, and was amazing. |

A large reason why there may not be too many women in death metal is because some of the most popular and well known bands (I'm thinking of Cannibal Corpse) have very disturbing and often misogynistic lyrics. It's also just not as easy for girls to go out and be musicians because they are not conditioned to do so. Musical role models for women are much harder to find than male role models, unless you count sexually exploitative pop stars. |
