This dude does seem like a weirdo, and predicting that an earthquake is going to happen THIS SATURDAY seems to be a bit of a stretch. That being said, the idea earthquakes would follow the ring of fire as the pressure is "equalized" so to speak makes some sense.

I think of it this way: Imagine trying to cork a bottle where the cork is just slightly too big. (I don't know why you'd cork a bottle, just finish it you pussy, but for the sake of argument...) You'd likely end up pushing in one side first, then applying pressure around the circumference until you made it fit. Its not a perfect analogy, but you get the drift...

People don't seem to understand that earthquakes and other natural disasters happen ever day, sometimes multiple. The only reason they're getting more attention now is because of all the hype over 2012. It's nothing more than the planet taking it's natural course. We all know the end of the world is gonna be a zombie apocalypse anyway.

I think the reason it's getting more attention now is because there was a 9.0 that obliterated a part of a civilized country

Haiti was hit pretty bad too, same as Chili, and same as Indonesia. Hell, Indonesia had something like 200,000 deaths, as opposed to maybe half that in Japan.

Ok true. But you gotta admit Indonesia was somewhat a vacation spot. I mean come on, we lost Mieszko Talarczyk because of the wave.

I remember both events being big news stories as well, not to mention Haiti being a celebrity darling. I think this one is still a big deal due to the nuclear issues that are ongoing.

The Tsunami in 2004 had more deaths by far because it nailed coastal villages and towns. And coastal villages and towns in that part of the world = tons and tons of poor people.

Haiti was pretty bad but because they are a very poor country with weak leadership an a high crime rate, everyone wanted to donate.
Japan on the other hand, being the more "civilized" areas hit and one of our closest allies (not to mention the 3rd largest economy in the world) , is different in many regards. The have the capacity and infrastructure to keep moving and assist those who are in need of help.
There's no doubt that all three incidents were all grave situations, but Japan is a big boy and can handle themselves better than the other areas. That's not to say they don't need outside help; but rather they don't need as much. Long live Japan

Ah yeah that's true. Everyone freaking out that the radiation waves are gonna reach the US soon. I don't remember where I read it so I couldn't give a source, but I read somewhere that by the time the radiation reaches the west coast it'll have almost totally dissipated into the atmosphere. Not sure if that's true though.
