Flo plays what is called a Hyper-Blast. It loses it's sound after awhile do to the wrist motion being used. A Gravity-Blast it is what was introduced by such drummers as Johnny Rabb and is used mainly in Origin's music. John Longstreth introduced this to us on the first Origin cd, who actually learned it from their original drummer. Hellhammer does it, John does it, as do others. You do incorporate the rim of the snare however you use the rebound of the bottom part of the hit and you use your fingers not your wrists.
