________________________________________ [Jan 14,2011 9:40pm - eyehatehippies ""] Was listening to Heartwork Thursday. Not my fave Carcass TBH, but I gained a new appreciation for it after seeing the reunion tour, as they played a lot of it. I would have figured they'd play more off Necrotism, as I always figured that was the album everyone dug on the best, but it seemed like a lot of Heartwork. I think I like it more now then when it came out. I really wasn't able to appreciate the more melodic side of death metal when I was younger, I just wanted it brutal and old school. |

That was a really good show though. I'm mostly a fan of Necroticism and was glad that they played pretty much all the essentials off that album at the beginning of their set. They did play a good amount of heartwork, too, which isn't really one of my favorites of theirs. It has a couple good songs off of it. Did anyone else feel like that tour was a bit of a money grab for them though? I know metal isn't supposed to be the most emotional thing in the world, but I didn't get the "glad to be back" vibes from Carcass that I did from Gorguts and Decapitated when I saw them. Their merch was retarded expensive, too. I'm pretty sure the kid I went with spent something like 65 bucks on a zip up. It's still something I'm really glad I was able to see. |
