NEW DEATH METAL!![views:3346][posts:21]_________________________________ [Dec 10,2010 7:26am - thecole ""] [img] Lago performs a unique fusion of Death Metal. Equal parts of the old-school masters Morbid Angel, Immolation, and Deicide collide with a more modern Behemoth or Origin and an over-arching original ear for song writing to create a sound that Lago can call their own; the subtle interplay between melody, atonality, and out-and-out brutality is brilliantly realized. This is definitely a band to pay attention to for anyone interested in the bands listed above or where Death Metal should be headed, if not complete worship of the old. ______________________________________________ [Dec 10,2010 10:03am - Corpus_aguafiestas ""] Lemme see here: "Lago performs a unique fusion of Death Metal." *it's pretty good but it's really not unique. I'm not hearing much fusion of a legitimate 'fusion,' of elements here either. If this is so new and brilliantly unique--then clearly the metal community has serious short term memory problems. "Equal parts of the old-school masters Morbid Angel, Immolation, and Deicide collide with a more modern Behemoth or Origin." Not even close to as fast as, or as tight as Origin, sounds a little like MA and nothing like Immo. I guess throwing some trems here and there make you old school and at that, legitimately awesome and groundbreakingly authentic. original ear for song writing to create a sound that Lago can call their own; ..no one in this genre of music is reinventing anything that's totally unique. hypothetically: you wouldnt know your name had your parents not given you one. the subtle interplay between melody, atonality, and out-and-out brutality is brilliantly realized. * the lab results show that there is no brutality, however there are some cool melodies, semi-interesting chordal stuff intermixed therein, yeilding some texture and dimension which is 'refreshing' but other than that, 80% meh 20% yeh. El lago tiene mucha mierda, pendejo. |

El lago tiene mucha mierda, pendejo. Label dude wrote that little bit. If it would have been me writing anything up on my band it would have been... "Lago smokes weed, drinks way to much coors light and listens to morbid angel a lot" To tell you the truth, I don't know what half of those verbs even mean. We even cover a His Hero Is Gone song on the EP. So i'm pretty sure we aren't where death metal is going. Were just dudes in a band. Thanks for giving us the time for a listen though! |

_______________________________________ [Dec 12,2010 11:54am - C_Colostomy ""] Just to set the record, I really don't think the band is bad, but Bova-esq death metal bios are too funny. Superlatives are so sixth grade year book. |
