As you well know, every Patriots game is gigantic from this point on. The Patriots haven't played the Bears in 4 years, and they're hardly our rivals. But let me put the Bears in perspective for you.

Super Bowl XLI: Bears vs. Colts

Peyton Manning's destiny was supposed to be going down as our generation's Dan Marino: record holder extraordinaire, no Super Bowl rings. Defense is supposed to win championships and the Bears had Brian Urlacher, Charles Tillman, Nate Vasher, Lance Briggs, Tank Johnson all on their roster when it actually mattered. They had the 5th ranked defense in the league, and put up 40 sacks in the regular season. They had the best give/take turnover ratio in the league despite Rex Grossman throwing 20 INTs that season.

And they put 7 men in coverage the whole game, coughed up 250 yards underneath to Peyton Manning, let Domenic Rhodes (of all people) run for 113 yards, and even with the game on the line refused to pressure the quarterback. It was a winable game, and they came out in the second half with a game plan that was basically for the defense to lay down and die, while Rex Grossman dueled it out with Peyton Manning essentially handing the Colts the trophy.

Fuck Lovie Smith and fuck the Bears.

All truth BTW. The Pats would have kicked the fuck out of the Bears that year if they just held on in the AFC game.

This game is awesome. We should be up by 40 again right now if we had gotten that kick return. Brady is firing on all cylinders and Belichick is flipping off every team in the NFL.

Anyone who thought the bears were "good" failed to look at their schedule thus far, and more importantly forgot, 9-3 in the NFC means, you suck.

This game was comical to watch. I can't wait for work tomorrow; the guy I'm relieving is from Chicago and told everyone the Bears would crush the Pats. FAIL.

I was in the car pretty much all morning/afternoon up until the game, and the pre-game commentary on it was laughable in retrospect. How many times is Brady going to come through gigantic in the snow before people start giving him his respect? ESPN was convinced that Chicago had a better snow team (based on what?), and WEEI was convinced the snow was going to kill Brady's passing game (almost 400 yards worth).

The difference in this game was apparent right after a very appropriate illustration. The commentators showed the comparison between the ball Brady used, and the ball Cutler used. Brady's balls (lololol) we scuffed up and weathered to give him a better grip on the ball. Cutler's balls (lolz!!) were brand new, and they quoted Cutler as saying he didn't care to make the effort to get his balls broken in (roflZ!!!). Then right after that Cutler coughs up the ball. You have to be intensely focused to win a snow game, and the Pats showed how focused they are today .

Lovie Smith is the black Bill Cower minus any real Super Bowl hopes. His "get off the bus running" approach has gone to shit. The Mike Martz Bears have abandoned the run. His starting guards are their 7th round picks from the last 2 years. Contrary to what every analyst seems to think, the Bears are actually 22nd in the league in rushing yards and are sitting at under 4 yards per carry. You can't beat a team like the Patriots by playing Marty-ball. Fire that guy already.

Let history show that with just under 4 minutes remaining, and the Jets down by 4 with 2 possessions left the Meadowlands started to empty out. This is the team that tells the world they have the most intense fans in the world. Fireman Ed could barely even muster up the strength to belch out the only word he knows how to spell with the Jets on their final drive of the game.

I hope everyone sees now what Brady was talking about when he criticized Pats fans for bailing out early on their 1st win against Cincinatti. The fans are an extension of the organization, and they set the tone for the team. If you're going to act like a bunch of front running pansies then guess what your football club is going to play like. Fuck New York. Fuck New Jersey. Foxboro motherfucker.

And in regards to the Sal Alosi trip, that's not something that just happens. A strength and conditioning coach doesn't decide to overtly cheat unless: a. he's got money on the game, or b. he's trying to impress a cast of scumbag coaches into eventually getting a coaching job. Don't ever feel bad for this team.

But how about we talk playoffs.

The NFC playoff race is honestly a lot more interesting than the AFC. Even if Atlanta loses to the Saints (which I think they will) then they still take the division.

I think New Orleans needs and 11th win to own their wild card spot. They'll get it but not easily. They've got to play Baltimore, Atlanta, and Tampa (3 teams in their own playoff hunt) to get it. They can beat Baltimore, but not without the Ravens taking a chunk out of them. The New Orleans/Atlanta match on Monday night in 2 weeks is the biggest thing left on the schedule. I think New Orleans, the way they're playing now, might be the most dangerous team in the NFC, and could take the conference.

The Packers losing Aaron Rodgers for even a game might just cost them the playoffs. They've got to go New England, NYG, Chicago and win at least 2 to have a realistic chance. It all hinges on Rodgers coming back.

Don't crown the Eagles the NFC east champs just yet. They've got 3 worthwhile games left.

My picks:
1. Atlanta
2. Chicago (the bye week the only thing keeping them from a 1st round blowout)
3. Philadelphia
4. NFC West Winner aka Who Cares. I'll take San Francisco at 8-8 for the long shot.
5. New Orleans
6. Giants (I'd love to pick Green Bay or Tampa as a dark horse pick, but solely based off the schedule I think the Giants have the easiest path to 10-11 wins).

AFC

1. Patriots (Where have I seen this before?)
2. Pittsburgh (Enormous separation between 1 and 2 seeds. I say Pittsburgh hangs in there as #2 because of their cream puff schedule: Jets, Panthers, Browns).
3. Chiefs (KC has the schedule to go 11-5, but will they? They face one team that's given up, one team that shouldn't be in a playoff race but is, and one team that thinks they're in a playoff race but isn't).
4. I've come to terms with the fact that the AFC South is impossible to predict. But as it stands Jacksonville has 1st place, and a better conference record than the Colts.
5. Baltimore (Their play is always up and down, but they're a big threat going into the post season. They're built nicely for a playoff run. And built even nicer to take it to the AFC championship game and blow it with 400 yards in penalties).
6. Jets (The 6 seed needs 10 wins. They'll get it, but it'll take them till week 17 in an overtime battle with the Bills that involves a huge mistake on the Bills part bailing out Mark Sanchez again).

My brother in law was explaining this to my mother last night at a family get together and in the middle of it, he said "Tom Brady likes his balls roughed up a little" and immediately burst out laughing.

Belichik and that fruitcake making pbj stars. Too funny.

Important update: Eagles lost Brandon Graham for the season with a torn ACL. That puts a big dent in their playoff hopes.

thats true but i still feel they're the best team in the NFC right now and will most likely be our opponent in the super bowl if we make it there. it would be pretty interesting to see how our D handles vick and the Eagles very diverse offensive playbook.

all I can say about the Eagles right now is that DeSean Jackson's 210 receiving yards and LeSean McCoy's 149 rushing yards last night vaulted my fantasy team into the playoffs, letting me win back my $50 buy-in......WIN BITCH
