I got my nose broken at one show when I was the farthest back you could be in the entire venue. I saw another show (well, booked it, but i feel awful about it now) where three kids went to the ER, one of them got their face completely destroyed, and none of them were doing anything in the pit. Maybe it's just central mass but a lot of the kids you see at a shows are douchebags trying to start trouble. |

________________________________________ [Nov 6,2010 9:10am - TheRidersofDoom ""] I don't go to hardcore shows...maybe that's why. I think metalheads, except for slayer fans, are more polite when it comes to beating people up at concerts. |
_______________________________________ [Nov 6,2010 10:18am - aaron_michael ""] *long winded rant about how aggressive music is going to bring out aggressive actions* Don't like the way people act at shows with aggressive music? Maybe shows with aggressive music aren't for you. I hate the band, but I'll always give props to And Then There Were None. Metal-core turned nerdy-danceathon-hippy shit. They bitched for years about the way kids acted at their shows, and then they did something about it. |

They bitched for years about the way kids acted at their shows, and then they did something about it. What did they do about it, aside from turn into a pop band? Or was that what they did? Also I kind of agree with you on this. Who the fuck gets hit in the face and doesn't wreck the kid that did it? If someone is going to maul me, I don't give a flying fuck if it shuts down the show or not, that dude is getting fucked up. I mean, are we that big of losers that we can't fight back when someone hurts us physically? Get real people. |

______________________________ [Nov 6,2010 6:44pm - sever ""] My complaint is that ridiculous violence hurts the scene. Yes, aggressive music will bring out aggressive people, but punching bystanders in the face for shits and giggles is a line that shouldn't be crossed. Shows get shut down, venues stop allowing heavy gigs and the scene is denied the opportunities to thrive. Not that there's any way to stop this violence, but fuckin' a, pits are for pitting, people standing far away with their arms crossed are just trying to fucking listen to the music, don't punch them. |
