well, thanks for the advice but I have been doing this for over 6 years ... the paper shuffling becomes unavoidable sometimes with what I have to do during the show, concert report and ticket giveaway book ... and I do play background music between sets, maybe you just tuned in right at the end of the concert report where I let my music run out and was also desperately looking for those Misfits tickets in the book, so there was paper shuffling and no music at that exact point haha anyway, thanks for tuning in - sorry if you came in at that point cause I saved all the whimpy music for the last 15 minutes too, so you missed all the punk and metal of the previous 100 minutes.
yeah, I didn't get back to my desk until 11:40 and plugged it in. I can listen on most wednesdays if reminded. The guy after you was a character. whoah. I've been doing my show for 14 years now, teaching the new DJs. I know that stations have different "rules". One of the main "rules" of my station is very anti paper shuffling, pro-background music, and anti-ums. When I have to deal with papers, I just lay them out in front of me. I've gotten very good about just having all the info open up on a laptop beside me. I only have a single sheet playlist/under that the FCC logs that I deal with only off-air.
