ATTN: Boston People - Question about jamming on street corners[views:2194][posts:23]____________________________________________ [Sep 11,2010 10:45am - FuckIsMySignature ""] Wanna start doing some promotion for Boston shows with my rock band. Me and my singer will just jam out our tunes acousticly and give out demos and flyers and shit. Will we get hassled by the police if we dont have a permit? What are some good areas to do this? |
_____________________________________ [Sep 11,2010 10:46am - arilliusbm ""] Yes, you will |
____________________________________________ [Sep 11,2010 10:47am - FuckIsMySignature ""] so how do we get a permit to do it legally then? |

________________________________________ [Sep 11,2010 10:58am - aaron_michael ""] you have to call town hall about it. I think it's roughly $50 for several hours. |

Cambridge permit is $40 from Cambridge Arts Council, 344 Broadway, Cambridge, MA 02139 617-349-4380. http://www.cambridgeartscouncil.org or http://www.ci.cambridge.ma.us/~CAC/ Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA permit and regulations. This permit is good for one year beginning January 1st. You can sell your own cds and use amplification at 80db in a 25 feet distance. Download copies of Cambridge Ordinance from this site or the arts council site (Laws are periodically updated so always check the City Clerk office for latest version). I can't find anything about actually playing on the STREET in BOSTON, though. Just MBTA stuff. |

_______________________________________ [Sep 14,2010 7:41am - Alexecutioner ""] go shred on the corner of Newbury and Fairfield in front of the CVS, enough room to set up without being on the sidewalk and you can usually play for at least an hour before the cops try to fuck with you if you dont have a permit |

Doubt he'll remember but we'll see. |
