ATTN: HOMEBREWERS IN THE BOSTON AREA[views:3057][posts:28]_______________________________ [Jun 21,2010 5:16pm - Snli ""] Do you love to drink beer? Do you love to make beer? Then we have the show for you. A major cable network is making a new show all about the greatest beverage in the World. All we need is you! We are looking for homebrewers with a passion for beer. What you need: You need to know how to make beer, but no experts please. This show is for novice homebrewers. A homebrewing set-up, big or small, fancy or not, it doesn’t matter. A big personality. The more fun, animated and excited about beer the better. Filming will take place periodically over the month of July in and around Boston. If you are interested please email (homebrewrocks @ gmail . com) with a brief description of who you are and why you would be great for our show! Good Luck! |

_____________________________________ [Jun 22,2010 8:20am - ouchdrummer ""] me and the singer from USEFUL IDIOT have made about 20 different beers. We're by NO MEANS experts, but we've definitely done some really cool fun beers. And i promise that we have very "colorful" personalities. I'll shoot you an email. |

If anyone remembers "Orgy", my and Aaron (useful idiot) went over his house on a Saturday and brewed a SERIOUSLY heavy beer. We had to use super high gravity yeast for it. If i remember correctly it was gonna ferment to around 22% alcohol. |
____________________________________ [Jun 22,2010 4:34pm - arilliusbm ""] Good ol Orgy. Guy hated animals and Hendrix more than anything else. |
________________________________________ [Jun 22,2010 4:46pm - DestroyYouAlot ""] Just relayed this to a married couple that, to me, pretty much sum up "beer (and brewing thereof) as lifestyle." |

_________________________________ [Oct 26,2012 12:12am - Spydre ""] Apparently I missed this thread in the past. I brew all grain 10 gallon batches pretty regularly. Just did a pumpkin ale with 30lbs of real pumpkin. Built a kegerator that's 3 taps right now, but will be 4 once I save up a bit more. Here are a few pics of it... [img] [img] [img] |
_____________________________________ [Oct 26,2012 12:22am - arilliusbm ""] good job guys. interested in trying it sometime. |
_________________________________________ [Oct 26,2012 12:25am - lucidcurseNLI ""] Thats a stellar set up. And I fapped in my beer. |
_________________________________ [Oct 26,2012 12:29am - Spydre ""] Here's half the pumpkin ale fermenting in the fermentation fridge, too. I've done this recipe for the past few years and it usually comes out pretty good. This year I changed it up a bit by splitting the batch and fermenting with two different yeast strains to compare the differences (one clean american strain and one clean european strain). I'll find out how it turned out on Monday when I keg them. [img] |
_________________________________________ [Oct 26,2012 12:30am - lucidcurseNLI ""] I used a fourth generation yeast and it exploded in the primary. It also turned pink which was bizarre? |
_________________________________ [Oct 26,2012 12:35am - Spydre ""] Weird. I'm assuming you wash your yeast before reusing it? Maybe it got infected? I've only ever gone as far as using second generation yeast. I get lazy and worry about off flavors if I reuse yeast too much. |
