All set..[views:1890][posts:14]___________________________________ [Apr 2,2010 6:54pm - fag balls ""] Is the phrase "All set". As in I'm all set here (ready to go), a New England phrase? My girlfriend is from Maryland and has never heard people use it so much. She also thinks its stupid. I believe its used all over the place as I've heard it in New York and the midwest, but she refuses to believe me. Any thoughts? Yes i am bored. |

Awesome. Never used it but I may with your kind permission, sir. It's awesome to discover another wordsmith who understands the significance of turning people on to new phrases or words. When I was in high school I had the whole school saying Geek and Grub. As you all know I stole "Smarten Up" from Goodfellas but a lot of people are saying it now. I love this shit. BTW I use "all set" a lot as in "I'm all set with that bong." Or " That bong is all set. Pack another." |

I have a story from two years of living in North Carolina... I went to a restaurant one time. This girl was walking around handing out free cookies. She asked me if I wanted one. I said "No thanks I'm all set." She then says to me "So you do want one?" and I went "HUH?" in the most confused tone I could muster. The girl then places a cookie on my table and then walks away without saying a word. Right after that, my ex who was originally from the DC suburbs of northern Virginia told me she had no idea what that phrase meant when she first heard me say it. I don't know how, I think it's pretty self-explanatory, but whatever... |
