I listened to it this morning as I was taking a shower, and i was really impressed. These guys have got a really good atmospheric, while still energetic, downright evil sound. Good solid artillery makes my head bob throughout the enitre disk, and the electronics are something that i think SHOULD be in more black metal. Oh, and the bass guitar is totally clear in mix. It (bass guitar) has a punchy mid-high tone to it that really shows when the blasts are going. At first you don't notice it, but then you realize how fast and percussive the bass is. The guitars are a little muddy, although i think overall it doesn't hurt the sound. Vocals are straight filthy son. I mean DIRTY fucking blood curtling screams. Great, great first release. You guys have got a lot of potential. Keep it up. |

I like the variety of the songs... all-out black metal one minute, death metal the next, the ambient tracks, the shredding solos, hell even the beginning of Renaissance Apocalypse almost sounds like Bad Brains styled hardcore punk at first. DYA's bass sound on that track sounds just like Daryl Jenifer on the last Brains album. |
