I ordered a bunch of stuff on DigiKey for wicked cheap but their capacitor selection kind of sucked. I couldn't find a 47uF capacitor that didn't suck. I also can't find DPDT switches anywhere. Second, concerning DPDT switches, I know how to wire it for true bypass and I could use a 3PDT switch for true bypass and an on/off LED but what I want to know is how do you disengage the battery from the circuit so as not to keep it draining? It may be just something I'm missing but I can't figure it out. Third, and to me the most pressing, where do you connect the ground to in the circuit. I know you can connect it to the chasse and I think this is what I've heard but can you connect it to the (-) of the battery instead? Or does this cause ground hum or whatever? I'm just trying to get some parts together to build a Harmonic Percolator and then a Tube Distortion pedal and this is some stuff I have on my mind. |
