Saratoga Winners burns to the ground![views:2705][posts:9]__________________________________ [Apr 30,2009 6:55pm - dertoxia ""] I'm sure there's some people on here who've made it out to Albany for shows here. This place was my first metal show and a ton of good memories from here. Yeah it was a fuckin shithole and everyone loved to hate it. But i'll really miss the place. It's been closed for a couple years though. Someone bought it and was doing renovations when they got slapped with a bunch of improper permit fines so everything was halted. Apparently the electricity was cutoff to the building so that's ruled out. This screams insurance fraud but who knows. http://capitalnews9.com/content/top_storie...troys-saratoga-winners/Default.aspx that fucking beam on the stage is the only thing still standing [img] ...the running joke around Albany is the firefighters could have saved the building but they had to sell 50 tickets before they could start putting it out |

_________________________________________ [May 1,2009 8:36am - largefreakatzero ""] Wow. I remember we did a NY weekend with the first Life at Zero line-up. We played Friday night at Castle Heights (now defunct) in Queens with Mortal Decay, Internal Bleeding and Pessimist (Pessimist was mad that they had to play with an unsigned band -- haha, fags). We then drive from Queens to upstate (staying at the shittiest motel EVAR) and played an all-day fest @ Saratoga Winners. We waited ALL day through mostly shitty metalcore bands and then went on 2nd to last (Internal Bleeding headlined). LOOONG ride home that night. Anyway, it was a cool place for shows. |
