You're right about that, though one of the reasons Tejas was an independent state was that American immigration was freaking out the Mexican government which led to all that craziness between 1821 and 1842. Kind of ironic considering today's situation. I really don't have an interest in fighting about Texan flip-floppery though. But Texas did become an independent state again they'd probably have to spend all their resources on anti-immigration and conflicts with the Mexican cartels. |
