Yeah, that.
My RPG collection is pretty ridiculous, and is precious to me. (We got it for our birthday, we did, yesss... LOL) I've got some pretty rare/significant stuff in there. ('81 Basic Set signed by Frank Mentzer, for one.)
I have the Castle Zagyg boxed set - it's basically Gary Gygax's Castle Greyhawk dungeons (or at least the initial revision, with co-DM Rob Kuntz's dungeon levels added in), re-done for publication, with all the TSR names and serial numbers filed off, published with almost-AD&D rules. It's pretty awesome (I haven't looked at much of it because I'm currently playing in it), but it's mostly precious because I picked it up for the MSRP of $44, shortly before it went OOP and skyrocketed to $200+ on eBay. When Gary died, his wife Gail - under advisement from her lawyers - took back the publishing rights from Troll Lord, the company that was publishing it, and they were required to pulp all the copies they were sitting on. *one single Indian tear* This was, in theory, so the newly-formed "Gygax Games" could continue publication with the notes Gary'd been preparing while he was ill. (The box I have is just an overland map, the castle bailey (upper castle ruins) and a dungeon level or two below that. There are 14-ish more to go, in theory.) It's been a year since Gary died, and so far two news updates on the Gygax Games site, and nothing published. NOT LOOKING GOOD. :moe:
