but in all seriousness, i am a little sick of the slavery arguement. what has it got to do with me and you. not all african americans ancestors were slaves, nor were all caucasians ancestors slave owners.... no one in my family was.....plus when my irish ancestors came to america, they went through the that N.I.N.A. (no irish need apply) bullshit. i know slavery was fucking awful, but honestly, the only affect it has on current day life is angry/guilty white liberals and blacks blaming every problem in the black community on white people, slavery and/or racism. just my opinion
I understand where you're coming from. And I agree with most of it. However, you kind of have to be black to know what its like to be black in this country. And to experience the oppression for yourself because thats the only way the argument can make any sense to you. Trust me, I hate the nogs who blame their laziness on slavery and the whiteys who feel the guilt so they buy every Mos Def cd and donate to the United Negro College Fund. But, when you get pulled over, harassed, or followed by cops in podunk towns JUST because you were driving through them the experience and your opinion of it is just different. Race isn't that big of a deal to me, I joke about it alot because...well, its funny. But, being a black man, I gotta keep some shit in check sometimes, even when i'm not being completely serious. Thinking that slavery and the oppression of the African American people afterwards has no grounds/affect in today's world is just plain ignorant. You have any idea how many voting machines in primarily African American voting districts were mysteriously "broken" on election day? NOTHING in terms of politics is a coincidence. *hops off soap box* *flips it back over and continues to soft shoe for tips*
