metalmayhem said:
play their songs on any instrument, then talk shit....trail of the dead is no metal band for sure. progressive, yes. talented as fuck, yes. just b/c you may not appreciate them doesnt mean that you should shit on them b/c you dont think they are cool. I don't even like them that much, but I definitely respect them. That said, they should not be headlining a metal tour ever. And hoglan is not a god. He is a good drummer, not great but good.
You're an idiot. That's all I can think to say. Hoglan has more history and versatility in the last 20+ years than any other drummers I can think of right now. I'm not sure how you define good vs. great, but I have a sneaking suspicion it has more to do with trendy fad tricks like gravity blasts than it has to do with actual solid technique and ability. As for trail of the dead, and your comments about "play their songs on any instrument", that's a ridiculous cop out. I can't necessarily play the latest country guitar solos - but I'm not about to say that implies that shania twain is amazing music, nor will I use it to justify her headlining the next slayer tour. dipshit. I bet next you're going to say some stupid shit about "How many albums did YOU sell, because trail of the dead blah blah blah". Weak, generic arguments. Frankly, opinions are just that - opinions. Some like the band, some don't, and ability or technical prowess will never change this for either camp.
