LA FRACTION

some reviews/descriptions:
"4 piece female fronted french punk from Paris, going since 199?, 3 albums out: 1- self titled on crash disques 2- Aussi Long sera le chemin (2002) on crash disques 3- La Vie Révée 2006 this one coming out on a flurry of various labels associated for the occasion. They have toured Europe extensively and done one north american tour so far, very energetic live shows, best seen when no time constraints are put on their performance."
"Long awaited 3rd album from them damn Punk Rockers, haha. Energetic Punk with catchy and melodic parts, nice female vocals (she sure knows how to use vibrato) and well written lyrics both personal and political. 10 tracks in the way of Aussi Long Sera le Chemin."
"The title translates into: "however long it takes". This is their 2nd Lp and it was really worth the wait. Raging straightforward fast and melodic punk with some of the best female vocals you can come across!! The style of singing reminds me a lot of this typical french "chanson-style" singing, if you don't know what I mean, get this and find out. Nothing really changed, but the production is more powerful than on their last already outstanding release. Comes in a nice 4-coloured sleeve with a 4 coloured booklet - lyrix are translated in english for those who are not familiar with French."

I wished roadrage played later or longer since there were huge breaks in the bands. Yeah, I used the time to delete spam off my phone.

THE WAYLAND: I can see what robin was talking about when he called them rock and mentioned zeplin. It's not that they really sounded like them specifically, but it the guitars were sort of like that. It's always a good sign when you end your set with people shouting "they are awesome!"

bludwulf: crust punks making punk rock with slayer riffs. Heard that before? Well, the catch is the vocals and the song's content. Both were heavily influenced by celtic frost. Songs about countess bathory and dying things rather than a out how much you hate your mom.

mass grave: wow, that was so awesome. Definitely a surprise on this show. Put a band like this on every punk show and I would love it. The music was bassed on the same formula as every good naplam death song. riffs into fast snares and keep that up until everyone stops at the end. They reminded me a lot of magrudergrind, but they had 2 singers and a bass player. Very excellent.

here's a nice tidbit for you. swamplord is neither punk nor metal. he washes his hands after he piddles. wtf! way not to be true.

mouth sewn shut: wow, that was the best set they have probably ever done. Even the raggae parts that are typically the weak point of the set actually had a floor to them. People seem to finally know this band and know the songs. Even the raggae parts had people screaming during them. The singer kept going into the pit and no one tripped or got tangled up in the chord. They played for longer than they should have cause the wouldn't stop.

They didn't remind me of Magrudergrind at all, those guys have no crust influence in their sound whatsoever, Mass Grave was chock full of it.

la fraction: hm.. They were all the age of 1/2 of tye audience's parents. If my mom got up and rocked out like that..er.. Well, it would have made thanksgiving so my cooler. some how, instead of a pit openning up in front of them, a photo-pit opened up. Not quite sure why that was, but. So the music was much differne than all the other bands thus far. First off all the words were in french. Thankfully we got the english titles at the beginning of each song or at least the lyrical content "this is the song of the love of beer". they sounded like the adolescents and people loved them. THE END.
