[QUOTE="the_reverend:656900"][band=Chthonic]: (mainstage) 10:20-10:55 honestly, I've seen nile before a bunch of times, including in new hampshire. They rule and all, but I was sooo looking forward to chthonic. They were the saving grace of MMF 2002. Guess what? They were even better than I could have ever dreamed the would be. So so so good. Honestly I could have left the show right there and I would have been so happy. but they only got a short set. There were a bunch of video cameras all over the place and im pretty sure the singer told us to oppose/destroy taiwan. Hm.. Maybe it just didn't translate well. It's extremely cool to see the weird instrument they used. They had that last time, but I don't think they played it as much. The only sad thing about their set ending was neither sigh nor tyrannt (2 other asian black metal bands) weren't also on tour with them. *sigh* there is always next year, right? It only took hem 5 years to get over for the second time. [band=Excrecor]: 11:00-11:30 so it turns out that the singer (im guessing arist? No? Or were you the guitarist?) was someone that I mentored at WUNH oh so many years ago. Damn it im old. No wonder my body can't take THE PAIN anymore. They used reason for the samples/keys and it kept messing up on them. I really didn't hear the much anyhow. There were a lot of kids in the front there rocking out for them. Surprising. And the security didn't even look worried. No moshing mind you, just head banging. They started of really heavy and pounding, but mixed it up towards the end with that maddness song that I heard so much about leading up to it. [band=Nile]: (mainstage) 11:35-1 by the time you read this review, nile will be over and crazy dan would have been booted out of the show. I really can't believe that this show went over so well. I would say that there are at least 170 out there watching nile. Like I said, I was at the last show that they played in NH. Dallas mentioned in on stage. It was the elvis room 97 or 98 on the catacombs tour. I ended up purchasing their first CD there. Back then karl was using a 75mhz packard-like computer with either windows 3.11 or 95. (im pretty sure it was windows 3.11, but I forget which now). The thing even had a CRT screen. Through all the years and upgrades that I have seen them through. Now, he's rocking a slick xp laptop with a dual display LCD near his feet. Amazing technology really. This band always plays at the utmost of professional skill and absolute tightness. I mean they really have to. Oh and to any of he haters out there that talked crap about nile playing this venue, they sounded perfect here. I love the palladium as much, if not more than the next person but they seriously have always sounded like an echoy wall of crap at the palladium. Try to deny that and I'll call you a super liar right to your face. Their music is to fast and full. The sound at the palladium just turns it into a mess with that high ceiling and all the frequencies folding over each other. This venues low ceilings is perfect cause the sound just travels out frm the stage and doesn't reflect back at them/the crowd.[/QUOTE]
