Something\'s coming…something that\'s even bigger than the fact that DIMMU BORGIR will release their long awaited album on April 27th: on top of that, "In Sorte Diaboli" is also gonna be the first concept album in the band\'s history!

The album\'s story will be set in medieval Europe. "There's this dude that works as a priest's assistant, and after a while he just discovers that he has nothing to do with Christianity“, guitarist Silenoz explains what the concept album is about. „He just sort of has this awakening and realizes that he has different abilities and different powers and is leaning more to the dark side…"

To make the story clearer, not only the lyrics for the songs will be printed in the booklet, but you will also get a short synopsis introducing the listener to the plot.
The album was mixed in Studio Fredman in Göteborg by producers Fredrik Nordström and Patrik J. Sten. DIMMU BORGIR recorded it in the following line up that is expected to stay: Shagrath (vocals), Silenoz (guitars), Galder (guitars), I.C.S. Vortex (bass), Mustis (keyboards) und Hellhammer (drums).

thats pretty dumb if you base your liking of a band off of whether they are in Hot Topic or not.

Didn't you hear? Iron Maiden isn't one of the most influential and successful metal bands of all time anymore because you can get some of their shirts at Hot Topic!

i might have to get that "ULTRA LIMITED EXCLUSIVE NUCLEAR BLAST MAILORDER EDITION" just because of the name

I bought a Celtic Frost "Morbid Tales" shirt in Hot Topic - the place isn't that bad.

It is bad as it commercializes bands and gets the wrong people into them for the wrong reason.

but it is good that very very very rarely they get the right band a good name.

yeah I don't get why people hate on dimmu, sure they are cheesy but have you looked at any of the other black metal bands out there?

I personally think it is sick to have such a big name in symphonic black metal getting out there. If it wasn't for dimmu I'd probably have never gave bands like immortal or emperor spins.

I disagree with this statement. No one should be excluded from listening to any kind of music, despite the fact that they dress or act other than how you feel they should. Seems ironic you would rather people be excluded from listening to a band rather than turning them on to something better than say... some emo shit. Many of these kids that are young and go to hot topic just havent been exposed to the right kinds of music yet. I remember when I was in 5th grade and thought that Pearl Jam's "Go" was one of the heaviest songs out there - obviously I eventually learned of my ignorance. So if anything, Hot Topic should be commended (shudder) for promoting better music...rather than bashing them for selling to a certain demographic.

haha...i was gonna say that there are more "the"s in those titles than there are in band names at an emo or hardcore concert

This band would suck even if they put out ultra rare demos limited to 3 tapes and then got signed to Southern Lord.

i was just musing. i could care less if you like or dislike a band. i just love how no one on here offers contructive criticism as to why a band "sucks" as opposed to not liking the music for whatever reason.

Ok, I dislike Dimmu Borgir (and "symphonic black metal" as a whole) because I think their music is incredibly boring and the "symphonic" parts come off as hollow dick waving. I've never invested a ton of time into listening to them but from I'd say about two albums of material I've heard they are terrible song writers, content to throw more and more "classical" instruments onto a traditional rock song structure rather than putting together songs that are actually symphonic.

Just because your friend has a really cool keyboard and owns some swords that would make for awesome photos it doesn't mean you should let him in your band.
