Anti-virus can do a lot more than just scan for viruses. like intrusion detection, spyware protection, and so much more. there are always ways that you can do thing like send windows data on a certain pen port and get root access, send blue tooth files, receive BT files, cookies, or thing like that. AVs protect you from exploits in your OS. AV is a very good thing... unless you run in a vmware session. then who cares, right? |

In fact my bank's website has a disclaimer that the online banking pages won't work with Safari........ yeah, they do anyways. The only issue I have with it is that on a rare occasion it will shut down without warning, and give me an error message. But given the fact that IE is responsible for at least 1 major annoyance in my life every single day (freezing up, not minimizing, not loading videos, errors and error messages every 10 seconds) I think I'll let it slide.
