When I became more into Sociology my ideas became less philosophical and more social and political minded. I find that the best lyrics have some sort of narrative to them and aren't just pure poetry or exhibitions of your vocabulary. When writing lyrics, never consult a thesaurus. Most of the time people who read your lyrics can tell when you use words you don't understand from experience. Also, writing about shit (actual fecal matter) works. |
