I must be the only Opeth fan in the world who LOVES their first four albums, loves the latest two, but thinks the 5th-8th albums are mih. But yeah, anyone who takes their opinion as a fact(whether it a positive opinion or negative opinion) is pretty silly.
Disagree. I see the point being made there and frankly, it makes sense. My eyes are hazel, fact. I too think Opeth is a great band, fact. That's not the same thing as saying something like "Well, I don't like the U.S. government so 9/11 never happened. If you think it happened, yours is an opinion, and if I say it didn't, it's a fact." Well, we all know 9/11 indeed happened, so whether or not you wanted to say it didn't, because you oppose the government, doesn't change the fact that photos, videos, and lives lost prove otherwise. I'd say thinking of your tastes and preferences as personal facts, rather than opinions, which is what they are to other people, is a lot less "sillier" than crying, bitching or mudslinging.
