The only times I really even noticed Samoth wasn't there was during the more proggy noodly parts of the newer songs, but they did a fucking stellar job of making it work with just Ihsahn. My only other complaint was while Ihsahn's voice was amazing as always, the keyboardist (Was it Grimloch? I couldn't see him cleary) couldn't harmonize with him at all for the clean stuff and it came off sounding really awkward, especially on the IX Equilibrium tracks. All in all, huge A+ for the show. So good! |

The mix of the keyboards with the guitars overall was real up and down as well. Daylight dies was awesome. I used to see and enjoy them in high school in the mid/early 90's, but time has not been kind to them at all. Putting a metalcore band on that bill was a colossal mistake anyway. |
