________________________________________ [Jun 25,2006 3:35pm - DomesticTerror ""] absolutely love both the story and the movie. "awww no, that's a goocher. this is bad, guys..." i must now assume yer a fan of Rita Hayworthe and the Shawshank redemption. i felt that was one of the best book to movie translations i've ever seen. |
__________________________________ [Jun 25,2006 3:42pm - ram_girl ""] Shawshank Redemption was/is one of my favorites movies......and it was one of the best, although Green Mile does come close. |
__________________________________ [Jun 25,2006 3:46pm - ram_girl ""] When the remade The Shining and Salem's Lot, I was offended. How can you screw with classics. You cannot replace Jack Nicholson (all work and no play makes Johnny a dull boy) with anyone!!!! |
________________________________________ [Jun 25,2006 3:52pm - DomesticTerror ""] i never bothered to see the remakes. if anything, they should remake the mediocre/bad movies like It and Tommyknockers |
________________________________________ [Jun 25,2006 3:54pm - DomesticTerror ""] and that god awful, loosely based Lawnmower man! where the hell was the fat man eating the grass? ugh.. on a side note, i love what a coked out Stephen King can write. |
________________________________________ [Jun 25,2006 4:04pm - DomesticTerror ""] ok, all this talk, i must go read now. Long days and pleasant nights... |
_______________________________ [Jun 26,2006 10:42am - Yeti ""] i am like 100 pages from the end of The Stand. i just finished "Wizard and Glass" which was fucking phenomenal. i would love to see a movie done in the vein of LOTR. i just dont want to see it get fucked up in a movie. like "IT". |

Its a good thing you are reading The Stand because of the reference to it (Captain Trips) in Wizards and Glass. If you are going to continue the Gunslinger Series make sure to get Salem's Lot in before Wolves of the Calla. I agree with the movie thing. It would have to be of epic proportion....not like the made for TV bullshit!!!! |
_______________________________ [Jun 26,2006 2:49pm - hoser ""] Man.....that was a great series. I read most of that through high school. A movie would be awesome. In parts though.....with Blaine the Monorail being the last. |

Now there is book 5 Wolves of the Calla, book 6 Song of Susannah and the last one The Dark Tower......... |
