DrinkHardThrashHard said:
Wheel of Time is the literary equivalent of a gasbag. Far too drawn out, and the characters gain godlike abilities meaning basically, it's not much fun to read since you know how everything will turn out. Don't bother. George RR Martin "A Song of Ice and Fire" is far more popular and I'm willing to bet sells more at Barnes and Nobles. Much more down to earth, and even though these books are long too, they are amazing page turners. The books out so far are: Game of Thrones Clash of Kings Storm of Swords Feast for Crows
Thanks man. Like I said I already bought the first one, so I'll probably read that one anyway eventually, but thanks for saving me money on buying the next 3 or something and realizing they aren't that good. I can't say Martin's name sounds familiar, but I looked online and I definitely recognize some of those covers, so although I can't say for sure how many I rung out in my 1.5 year stay at the store, most likely they were pretty popular if I recognize them.
