[QUOTE="MonikaHBBSI:414761"]----------------- Original Message ----------------- From: mark Date: Apr 13, 2006 9:42 AM you guys booking green milk, genghis tron, etc on the same night as Acid Mothers Temple... i work with promoters to prevent overlapping and i make sure not to book a show to fuck someone else over.. i know you cant move the show but honestly my shows been booked for well over a month. waay before that show was booked. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ My Reply: Apr 23, 2006 12:16 PM Subject: RE: i dont appreciate... Body: Wow, Mark, I must admit that I am a bit surprised to read what you just sent us. What was THAT all about? "i work with promoters to prevent overlapping and i make sure not to book a show to fuck someone else over.." What? Who do you get in touch with? Please explain to me how you go about this because you have never worked with us or asked us about anything that we have planned or booked. I have absolutely no idea what you mean by the above statement. What makes you think that we booked this show to fuck you over? The bands came to us looking for a show because they are touring and we wanted to help them like we always try to do because we know what it's like being in a band and trying to find shows to play. It didn't even enter my mind to see what you had going on because I had given up on working with you by then. We decided to help them out and put a show on for them. This is not any different from any other time that we have set up shows for touring bands. Truthfully, I am really surprised that you are presenting what is bothering you in such a hostile way because I personally have tried to get in touch with you to get to know you, to work with you and to collaborate on shows. From our correspondence months back I thought you were into it too and then I came to the SUNNO))) show and I tried introducing myself but you were not interested in speaking to me so I got the hint and left you alone. I must admit that I was disappointed. I don't know what happened between the emails and the SUNNO))) show but I would love to find out. When you needed a PA, because the one you had lit on fire at that show, Robbiey and I were ready to go home and get ours for you to use. After the show, I came up to you guys and said thank you for the show because we really did have a great time. In our correspondence months ago, what I didn't mention to you was my main reason for wanting to work with you and having an open line of communication and that was TO AVOID CONFLICT. Exactly what is happening now is what I was trying to avoid. I wanted you to see that we are not in it for anything other than to have a good time and to provide a safe venue where bands can play for an audience and get some gas money to get them to their next show. I wanted you to know that we think putting on shows should not be a territorial thing, nor an elitist thing, and it definitely should not be a competition. No one is getting rich off of it, we are nothing but passionate about what we do, and I believe collaborating and working together would make for better shows. Especially because we are in the same part of the state so we would not be competing for the same audience which I think makes no sense. I THOUGHT that you wanted to work WITH us on booking. (I have included our past correspondence at the end of this email because it seems that you have forgotten all about them. And now it's obvious to me that you were just talking shit when I thought you were being sincere about doing things together.) Maybe you can shed some light on what exactly your problem is with us, as I feel I have tried everything possible to work with you and have gotten nowhere. You are representing yourself very unprofessionally and your accusations are simply ridiculous. You need to get off your elitist and pretentious high horse, come down to earth, and realize that throwing temper tantrums is not ever going to get you anywhere with anyone with perhaps the exception of your parents. Remember the Kill the Client show? Remember when you needed a venue last minute? We put that show on in our basement with 2 hours notice because you forgot to book the venue. And then word gets back to us that "Manic Productions hates HBBSI because they don't treat bands fairly" What is that all about? Who are you talking about? What bands complain? I'd love to know so I could resolve any issues with them personally, not through you. Mark, anytime you talk shit abut us it does get back to us and Robbiey and I think it's funny because it is never based on anything solid. I don't believe in indirect ways of resolving conflicts but I wanted to address this matter ASAP. I hate drama, I have absolutely no time for it. I encourage you to call myself or Robbiey if there is anything else you feel the need to address. I will be more than happy to talk to you on the phone or to meet you in person. Monika Majewska Human Bone Bicycle Sciences Industries 860.XXX.XXXX Past emails to refresh your memory: ----------------- Original Message ----------------- From: Human Bone Bicycle Sciences Industries Date: Sep 14, 2005 10:51 AM I have been in contact with Rick and thought I'd say Hi to everyone else and introduce myself. My name is Monika and I am one of the vocalists for Human Bone Bicycle Sciences Industries. Just like you we also book shows in CT. Most of our shows are at Cherry Street Station in Wallingford and are 21+ because Cherry Street is a bar. Your Kill the Client show got moved to our basement a while back, I don't know if you remember. CT is so funny. We've been booking at Cherry Street Station for a little while now and it's been really hard to get people to come out. The draw back to that venue is that it's 21+ but we don't have to pay to rent it out so all $ goes to the soundman and bands. Would you be interested in working with us on shows? We would like to do something where we put a 6 band show together and split the bill so that 3 bands you guys want to put on will play and 3 that we want to book a show for will also play. What do you think? There is no pressure. It doesn't have to be for a while, I just wanted to put it out there. I'm new to booking and everything in this scene so I don't even know a lot of bands but I'm learning and working hard on this booking thing. We are planning on going to your show on Thursday. It looks like a great lineup. I've never seen any of the bands so I'm excited. Hopefully we will get to meet in person then! We have Psyopus coming through on Sept 23rd at Cherry Street. I hope you can come down! Take Care and feel free to call either Robbiey or myself if you want to talk about it! Monika 860.XXX.XXXX Robbiey 860.XXX.XXXX Take Care and Thanks for Your Time, Monika ----------------- Original Message ----------------- From: Manic Productions Date: Sep 14, 2005 1:20 PM hey thanks for the message!! so you want to maybe do shows together at the cherry street place? i would love to help! i just got rudy's bar in new haven Alabama Thunderpussy, should be cool! im trying to break into new places and work with other promoters so this is awesome!! what show are you going too? we have a show on friday! in wolcott if that is what you are talking about.. it should be AWESOME. def introduce yourself at the show on friday, we can chat and become awesome friends :) i wanna see Psyopus so i hope to make that show. sorry that i suck at writing emails. def. keep in touch. thanks again for messaging me -mark ----------------- Original Message ----------------- From: Human Bone Bicycle Sciences Industries Date: Sep 14, 2005 2:09 PM Hi Mark! Thanks for getting back to me right away! Everything sounds super cool! Yeah, Fridays show in Wolcott is the show I was talking about. How can I get the $10 tickets? Monika 860.XXX.XXXX ----------------- Original Message ----------------- From: Manic Productions Date: Sep 14, 2005 2:18 PM you can get them online! http://www.etix.com/ticket/online/performanceSearch.jsp?performance_id=298150&cobrand=manicproductions unfortunetly service charges are $1.25 or something i think (with toad's its like $4.25 but i told them i need it cheap as possible) so its basically the same price.. its more for like if the show is going to sell out (and so when you buy advanced tickets.. if the advance price is cheaper you dont end up paying more than the actualy price.. did that make since>?) do you have any ideas for cherry street or should i just contact you about it when i get something i think would be cool there? or do you wanna do locals... let me know! ----------------- Original Message ----------------- From: Human Bone Bicycle Sciences Industries Date: Sep 14, 2005 2:22 PM ok, so we'll just get tickets when we get there. We're interested in doing everything. I'm more concerned about getting a steady thing going so that when people come through on tour we have a community for them to play for instead of stressing out about finding people to attend. I'll talk to you about it on Friday! Thanks Again! Monika RE: RE: RE: RE: RE: Hello! Body: yeah i hear ya. but its hard though. i mean i have shows where i have 15 kids and that have 300. it pretty much depends on the bands playing, the weather, etccc. do you have a mysapce for cherry street yet? you should! we have over 2,000 friends on the manic myspace and its a really good tool to get the info out there ----------------- Original Message ----------------- From: Human Bone Bicycle Sciences Industries Date: Sep 28, 2005 9:42 AM Hello! I just wanted to get in touch with you and tell you how upset I am that I missed the Daughters show. We had that NYC show the following night and were working with new members to get the material right, and then it got really late, and then we decited that we would probably miss them. THEN the next day we ended up cancelling the NYC show because the new guitar player had heart palpitations! The whole thing was just so sad because we NEVER cancel shows! But I felt really bad, I mean what if something bad had happened to him in NYC, you know? Well, he had to wear a heart monitor for a few days but I guess he is OK and that's the important thing. I'm just very worried because he is very young! I just keep thinking anout how if I knew we would have to cancel the show the following day, we would not have practiced as long and we would have been able to see the Daughters show!!! And meet YOU!!! So yeah, it was not a very good week. I've calmed down now and I hope that you are still interested in working with us in the future. Let me know what you have going on and if we can help! As far as working together, besides keeping us in mind for booking touring bands, let us know if you have any shows coming up that you have spots open for that we might be able to fill for you. The Psyopus show we hosted last Friday went well, I love that band! We're playing with them again in RI on Oct. 16th if you would like to go. It's far, I know, but I figured I'd let you know! I hope you have been well! Take Care, Monika HBBSI 860.XXX.XXXX RE: Hi Mark!
