Alder is a great, classic wood for a bass. Figured maple is just beautiful, doesn't really affect the tone. if you like what a Modulus can provide (clarity, punch, brightness) then they are well worth the dough due to their reliability and craftsmanship. Although having a top luthier build me a bass would also be a dream come true, I would still very much consider shelling out the cash for Modulus. [/QUOTE]
