I'm not about to belch about who's hardcore, what's hardcore, and what it takes to be tough. What I will bring up is the fact that nonsense like this is a real nice way to get a venue shut down. Venues that will book hardcore/metal/whatever shows are tough to come by wherever you go. If you want to talk about respect for a form of music, how about some respect for the process. Somebody went to a great deal of trouble to book a show, promote it, and give bands a chance to play. Now that kid is liable, a venue is in jeopardy, and a shit example is set to the younger kids of that area who don't know anything about scarcity of venues, or what it takes to make things happen in hardcore (and who probably already think that everything should be handed to them). I'm not about to pass a judgement, I don't even know what happened, and by all logic I've got no right to an opinion here. But I've got to ask; Was it all really worth it to prove a point to "Tub Ring." No judgements, no insults. Bottom line: I've been around long enough to see the consequences of such actions first hand, certain other aforementioned people have not. Figure it out. And anyone who wants to know what happened with me and whatshisname are welcome to come see me in person and inquire. I'm not doing the messageboard thing..... and bring a blank VHS. p.s. I don't care that Tub Ring got beat up.
