hm.. The promoter could be a little more forceful getting the bands up and playing. I have a feeling this show is going to run late. [band=Proteus]: awesome! I got a demo from them. I was hope el justin and more people would get out to this show to see them. It seems like a lot of people were into it. One kid dance for them. Their music was very full and heavy sounding. I think it had to do with the 2 1/2 stacks for the guitars and the 2 bass cabs. Matt's vocals, though not as loud as joey IDN's vocals, run a similar gambit. The disgusting lows and shrill hi-pitched inhales. They have tons of slamy, breakdownish parts, but they cut them off just when kids would start dancing which I found highly amusing. there are also some "ambient" parts like throwing shrapnel used to do. These parts reminded me of the old hellraiser sound track. They "ended" their set with a ton of feedback. But matt got up and started screaming and the other guys joined him to play another song.
