So last week I sent a resume to this small company in regards to a job posting they had on their website. I get an email back the very next day in which this lady thanks me for my resume, and says she'd like to setup a time during the next week for me to come in and talk with her. Cool. I email her back immediately, and give her my availibility. Nothing. So the next week comes, and I still haven't heard from this lady yet. I had to take a personal day this week anyways for another job interview, and in the hopes of getting them both in in the same day, I emailed her again to let her know I have Thursday open, and would love to meet with her. Zero. So yesterday I decide to do the smart thing, and just call her. Get the word straight from the horse's mouth. So I call her, reception says she's busy, and they take a message. I go back to work, and wait for a call back or an email. Less than nothing. I'm totally baffled by this. Usually when a company has no intention of considering you for candidacy they'll either just send you an automated confirmation message, or totally ignore you. Usually when I get after people like this they'll at least send me an email letting me know what's going on. I've never once had a company go out of their way to tell me they want me to come interview, and then completely ignore all my efforts to get in touch with them. I don't think I'm wrong in thinking that's a totally disrespectful, and unprofessional thing to do. I mean I get that they have a full time job to do, and nobody's first priority is to make a phone call to me, but what the hell, she said verbatim that they want me to come interview. So who's got some wise metal kid, Celtic Frost inspired advice? ps. While typing this another company called, and asked me to come in for an interview today. :satancross:
