Why have a band logo that is unreadable?[views:5550][posts:15]___________________________________ [Nov 14,2005 10:43pm - Bradness ""] i don't get it, don't you want people to be able to know what the band is called? |

__________________________________________________ [Nov 14,2005 10:52pm - the_taste_of_cigarettes ""] yeah why do singers sing the words so I can't understand 'em? What you got marbles in yo mouf? |
___________________________________ [Nov 14,2005 11:03pm - brian_dc ""] what's with distorted guitars...you could hear the parts much better if it was all played clean or acoustic |
__________________________________________________ [Nov 14,2005 11:59pm - the_taste_of_cigarettes ""] in my day musicians didn't sing about this booty or that booty. They had respect and the music had good values. |
___________________________________ [Nov 15,2005 12:01am - brian_dc ""] back in my day, people had respect and values enough to know that all music is the devil (except psalms) |

________________________________ [Nov 15,2005 8:19am - Ryan_M ""] i sometimes wonder the same thing about band logos. some bands like Darkthrone or Cradle of Filth have logos that are a little hard to read at first, if you never heard of the band before, but a Darkthrone record with the logo printed in plain ariel font wouldn't look right. but some bands take it way too far, and i'm referring mostly to bands in the gore-grind genre. their logos are like a completely indecipherable puddle of liquid feces, i'm sometimes not even sure if all the letters are in there! some black metal bands are really bad too, the logos are a giant mass of scribbles with upside down crosses and pentagrams and goat faces strewn all over, and it's supposed to say something like "Anally Molested Christ" or something blasphemous like that. |

_________________________________ [Nov 15,2005 8:50am - Ichabod ""] The best band logo ever was '70's hair rockers "Angel"...you could read it the same upside down or right side up! As far as the black/death style logos, originally, I think the bands were looking at them more as "symbols" and weren't really too concerned about legibility. I'm all for that..it's art...symbols are more powerful than words. But now it's just silly because it's a bandwagon-esque necessity to have a logo that brands you like a fuckin' cattle...you BELONG to the scene if you carry the brand. |

King David was all about singing to god about crushing his enemies in gruesome ways. |
