And don't get me wrong here, I love a lot of this type of shit but I've noticed this and that person looking to start a band in the similar style, or more shows of this type being listed, etc...

metalcore was last year, this year the progressive people are putting at least one sabbath riff in everything.

it's more like bands saying "we're more rock now" with their music. but that in itself is not really a candidate for a trend.

i am seeing that as well. i'm not sure if it's just becoming more accepted and appreciated, or if it's just becoming the new cool 'core' trend.

lots of funny haircut, white belt, sister's pants wearing queers are showing up at gigs these days.

i made a point about grind being the "in" thing a few threads back it also reminds me of all the nu-metal kids who put cephalic carnage and dying fetus in there favorites on there myspace.
