Okay here goes, and I'm implementing a horribly cheesy new rating system... The following bands played in the following order in a room of roughly 100 degrees in temperature. :middlefinger: nature. Nidas the Buzz: (Stage one) I heard this was their first show. Didn't seem it at all. They played really well and I thought they kicked ass. Only suggestion: there were some rather long passages that just grooved out on riffs where it really felt like it could use some more vocals on top, though they might've just skipped a lot of vocals because of the really quiet PA that was there for the first 1.5 bands. :NEWHORNS::NEWHORNS::NEWHORNS::NEWHORNS::NEWHORNS::NEWHORNS::NEWHORNS:/10. (This is my lame as hell rating system) Shroud of Bereavement: (Stage two) I like these guys but I ended up spending most of the set outside trying to help out with the PA situation. Eventually a PA showed up halfway through their set, which seemed to just be one long song long, but once it got hooked up and the vocals were audible it sounded a lot better from outside. I will catch a normal set from SoB some day soon. :NEWHORNS::NEWHORNS::NEWHORNS::NEWHORNS::NEWHORNS::NEWHORNS::NEWHORNS::NEWHORNS: A Cold Reality: (Stage one) New singer. Good good. He cupped the mic way too much though and made a lot of unpleasant feedback. He sounded good though, and he'll sound better if he learns to not cup the mic (us sound guys are anal about this especially since no one takes it/us seriously). The room didn't have the greatest acoustics and the guitar's high end got a bit lost and muddled in the room, but everything else sounded good. There were two stages in different directions and this one didn't seem to fit the room as well as the other. Longer cables = more movement. Hitting head on the mic. Broken bass string (the only important one). Still a good set. :NEWHORNS::NEWHORNS::NEWHORNS::NEWHORNS::NEWHORNS::NEWHORNS::NEWHORNS: Noosebomb: (Stage two) I couldn't tell you why but no one stayed inside for these guys, which was shitty, cause they were good heavy groovey metal. They played a good solid set and, like every other band there, will probably be more enjoyable in a room with only a two-digit temperature. :NEWHORNS::NEWHORNS::NEWHORNS::NEWHORNS::NEWHORNS::NEWHORNS::NEWHORNS: Bane of Existence: (Stage two) Oddly enough, their drummer looked, played, talked and smelled a lot like Noosebomb's drummer. Plus it seems they're both made of stone that's made of mud. BoE kicked ass and thankfully people actually came inside to see them. They sounded really tight and Doug has the best wardrobe ever. Mike can tell you what we came up with for minor improvements though (speedo and a bullet belt for example). Nasty set. :NEWHORNS::NEWHORNS::NEWHORNS::NEWHORNS::NEWHORNS::NEWHORNS::NEWHORNS::NEWHORNS::NEWHORNS: (+1 for Mike playing back to back sets in that forsaken sauna they call Sputnick's) Ascendancy: (Stage one) Yeah, I'm going to sit here and review my own band, right. But I did play in the bathroom and Terence played from across the street. And someone actually headbanged besides us. Which owned. But no bass. Which was shitty. I'd like to hear what others thought of our set because I'm still not going to say "we were awesome" or "we sucked nut." But I think we had the most energetic set of the night, which we're happy with. :shocker: because I'm biased. Adolf Satan: (Stage two) I was absolutely exhausted and spent this set outside as well. From what I could hear from out there it sounded insanely loud with gurgly goofey vocals. No real opinion until I see them under normal conditions. :NEWHORNS::NEWHORNS::NEWHORNS::NEWHORNS::NEWHORNS::NEWHORNS::NEWHORNS: because I have no right to give anything less but didn't get enough to give anything more. Great name though. One Way Down: (Stage one) Yeah so these guys were the locals to be the big draw. Didn't catch anything inside again, too busy worrying over a dead/kidnapped/raped friend. Sounded alright from outside, but it seemed like a bunch of the people who were there to see them, and had been there probably all day, had no interest in checking out any of the other bands, and that really fucking sucked. :NEWHORNS::NEWHORNS::NEWHORNS::NEWHORNS::NEWHORNS::NEWHORNS: for the band, I heard they're good people and again would like to catch them under tolerable conditions, :NEWHORNS: for that part of the crowd. Sputnick's: :NEWHORNS:, wtf was that place...
