Quick overall review: This show started LATE...1130pm or so...and thats late even on Olneyville time.First up was RIs Hogg...which for some reason I haven't seen until now. Initially they were a little volume shy and I think it affected the overall heavyness of what they were trying to do...but a bunch of people told them to turn up and once that was fixed...it was real good heavy grind. A second guitar player was added about halfway through and it really came together. I'm definitely gonna checkem out in the future. They rocked hard... Second up was CWAF and and I thought that they also took a few minutes to get their stride but a few songs into it and they were kicking ass...reminded me of parts of old AxeGrinder/Amebix meets grindcore and maybe even some elements of death metal. I thought they were also pretty damn good and they looked like they were having a good time. The kids liked them alot...great screaming vocals to boot. Third was Tundra...on tour from Seattle. These guys really surprised me with a cool mix of almost sci fi / pink floydesque trippy noisy parts and technical grind which they did incredibly well much in part to a tight as fuck drummer who was also the singer. I thought these dudes were excellent and really nice guys after the fact as well. Find their cd...buy it. Battle Royale from Berlin,Germany was supposed to play this gig and never showed. I dont know why or what happened and we never got a call from Armageddon explaining which was kinda crappy as this was the reason the show was held up. But regardless...the show goes on. Finally the Nightmare Continues...and YES..it was the actual FINAL show. It's hard to give a review about these guys because they are close friends of mine and its difficult to be objective with so much love for my boys form the "Ville".... BUT they fucking ROCKED. Without a doubt the best grind band to come out of Providence and they proved it by ripping through a bunch of old and new songs like an out of control bullet train. They even threw in an old Sabbath cover as a bonus and of course a bombastic ending that had drums, guitars and amps flying into heaps of wreckage at the end of the set. FUCKING awesome!...NMC have earned themselves a proper spot in Providence band history and rightfully so...I'm gonna miss gigging with them...they are one of the best. All our best here at REDRUM to Gregg Paiva for being a great friend and being a stand up guy to all of us. WE LOVE YOU BRO....for those about to ROCK...we SALUTE YOU! Respect brother....
