Check this out... Diecast Respond To Violence At Utah Show [ 1.27.2005 ] In response to the earlier Blabbermouth posting in regards to violence at the recent DIECAST show in Utah bassist Jeremy Wooden checks in to tell everyone what really happened. First off DIECAST never condoned this press release. Not once did we feel threatened or endangered during our performance. The show was going well until the promoter got extremely unorganized and the band's set times started getting cut in half. Both local band played full sets, while the national acts (Winter Solstice, Hoods and us) were limited to 15 min. Once the crowd found out those bands could only play a few songs they started getting upset. Our set started off great and the hardcore kids were dancing and singing along. It appeared that the security have never worked this type of show before and once kids started coming on stage to sing along to "Disrepair" the security began to violently push them away from the stage. Tired of being repeatedly being pushed away, the kids retaliated on the security. This went back and forth through the remainder of the song and ended up getting way out of hand. It appears that having the kids singing along got misconstrued into them attacking Paul (vocals) and none of DIECAST were attacked or harmed during this performance. It was unfortunate that we only got to play two songs for the fans that came out to see us and we can't wait to come back to play a venue in Utah where the security knows how to handle this type of event. Due to this press release being issued and the unprofessional actions of promotor Bobby Baugh, DIECAST will never play another event for Solid Entertainment. We thank everyone that came out to support this tour and we will be back soon.
