dirtybombed said:
Damn bro, what's the reason for the shattak? Just so you and anyone else who cares knows, we don't just not play shows 'cause we think that would be cool or something. We've never just not shown up or canceled for no reason. Give me a break. The first few years of the band had our drummer living 5 hours away from the rest of us, making shows very hard. The entire time we've played I've had a "real" job or whatever and haven't been able to take off for long enough to do a real extensive tour... believe me, nobody feels shittier about it than I do, but I own a house and have shit to take care of at home. We play out as far as we can without losing too much. In the 6 years as a band, I've personally lost over $3000 of my cash. I'm not rich, been without a place to call home and I do what I have to to survive. We've had two vans blow up en route to shows as well, stopping us from making to one (while we still managed to get to Detroit for the other just in time to play) and then causing us to cancel others. We've had to cancel a show due to one of us finding our father dead the day before. We've also gone through 3 drummers, 3 bassists, and 3 guitarists over the years... every time a drummer was out, we were on a hiatus for a while, thus having to cancel shows. As for Hellfest being in our back door or whatever was said, that also is not exactly true. It's about 7-7.5 hrs. from here to there. We've had to turn down 3 Euro tours due to us not having the financial means to pull it off. We're not rich kids. We don't live off mom and pop. Most of us don't even have computers or internet (like my 30 year old ass). We play ugly grind on half stolen equipment. We don't give a shit about being cool or trendy or popular or rockstarish from this junk. From day one it's been about fun and noise and I can promise you that we've done our best not to fuck shit over. If we would be asked to play this fest or whatever people are saying, we would, but we never were. Do we want to play NE areas ? Of course! I'm dying to play new england and have never gotten over being pissed that we had to sit dormant for the RI and Mass shows that we had on our first tour with Phobia (another case of us being over a $1000 in the whole at that point in the tour due to Necropolis Records falling out on their agreement to pay our van... missed two awesome shows in awesome cities that we really want to play). Bottom line is I don't know what Goratory said at MDF or whatever (hope not talking smack because I really like those guys) but I don't appreciate bullshit that isn't really accurate or at least void of the whole story. We've done the best we could with the shitty conditions and I would hope that any reasonable person could understand that. Keep up the awesome work at Return to the Pit and thanks to all the cats who have supported CODC over the years... we appreicate it more than you can imagine and it truly is what has kept things going at some of the most difficult times. Less War. More Fuckin'. -joe- the_reverend said:
hellfest is next door to them. and goratory's words about MDF are correct. my point still stands.

I am by NO WAY talking smack guys dude. I was saying how you guys played Maryland when it was said you never play out of state. By the way, HUman Harvest has the sickest vocals EVER. Keep tearin it up guys.
