further more hardcore is NOT gay. Hardcore is more than big pants, beaded necklaces, or Castro hats.

Every genre has good and bad bands, and dicks / cool people that listen to their sound. Metal has some REALLY shitty bands too...and some really shitty people. But you know, take each for its own, I suppose.

I will stand by Negative Approach because John Brannon rules and he went on to form one of the best bands in the history of the UNIVERSE

Indiscriminate beatings at shows (based on something as foolish as someone throwing a shove instead of a kung-fu kick in the pit or the t-shirt someone is wearing) has nothing to do with Hardcore OR Metal.

And yes, the kung fu dancing style itself is pretty damn gay, but I guess I don't give a shit what people do as long as they're not swinging fists into the crowd... Come on, you really think that's cool behavior?

Oh and if you ask bands that took Metal off the ground, like SABBATH, PRIEST, VENOM, IRON MAIDEN, METALLICA, etc. I guarantee you they would be all about free expression at shows but entirely against it coming to violence... Just cause the music has a violent/aggressive nature doesn't mean it's appropriate to treat a show like karate practice.

Who said anything about every Hardcore shows? It happens at way more Hardcore shows than Metal shows, and even more at mixed Metal/Hardcore shows... And from my experience, the Metalheads aren't instigating it.

why don't you shut up and have fun too instead of making it an emo parade and whining about it?

I do have a lot of fun at shows I go to, however occasionally the fun does get dampered when I can't rock out and watch the band without some retard running into me. How you can't understand that is beyond me... I am perfectly happy to see Hardcore kids (and Punks, Rivetheads, Rockers, Hippies, Goths, whoever) at Metal shows, but just as they expect a certain kind of etiquette from people that walk into a Hardcore show, it's not unreasonable for us to have a different set of "rules" for Metal shows. Anyway, I like to mosh a bit too, but just fun running around with my friends, not throwing punches and kicks, cause, call me crazy, but I feel like I need a real reason to punch someone.

whenever i see fights at mixed shows it's when the hardcore kids do there thing (durring the hxc band) and some metal kid takes it personally and tries to punch back.

first of all...yeah crowdpunches happen. you get hit once, move don't stand there so you can get hit again if you cant take it. and don't tell me you're trying to enjoy the band cuz 90% of the people who complain about fights at mixed shows don't even like both genres. so if that's the case go smoke a cigarette outside.

basically it's all about having good judgement. if you don't have it you'll prolly get the fuck kicked out of you. it's like those people who think it's smart to stick a fork in a light socket. let the tards weed themsevles out.

DID YOU JUST SAY THERE'S SUCH THING AS A BAD METAL BAND?! I'L TOTALLY FUCKING FIGHT YOU! EVERY SINGLE CANNIBAL CORPSE RIP OFF BAND IS AMAZING EVEN THOUGH I NEVER GOTO THEIR SHOWS AND COMPLAIN CONSTANTLY THAT THEY'RE NOT UNDERGROUND ENOUGH FOR ME. METAL IS TOTALLY EXEMPT FROM THE LAWS OF REALITY.

THATS SO UN-METAL OF YOU:satancross::satancross::skull::satancross::swedenflag::middlefinger:

i have to agree. Anyone who remembers the "backhand heard round the world" from the fetus/skinless show at the met should agree.

alot of hardcore kids are douches with chips on their shoulders. and so are alot of metal kids.

Err,... the feud was the Exploited and Slapshot. Listen to the song "punk's dead" - "you wanna worship watty? That's not the way to live!" There was bad blood between those bands for a long time. I remember a whole crew of skins showing up to almost every Expoited show in boston just to fuck with them.

However, you're right, the freeze weren't hardcore, they were punk. And Slapshot DID hate punk.

I give my full "fuck yes" to the last couple posts. Hardcore isn't a metal sound, it's a punk sound. You have to look at it all from a historical standpoint because when stuff like Minor Threat and Bad Brains and Discharge and all that other stuff was coming out in the day, it was referred to as hardcore. How do you go from that to chugging breakdowns, spin kicks, and Castro hats in 20 years?
