11/13 Helmet at Axis[views:4404][posts:6]__________________________________ [Oct 19,2004 1:16pm - Mike_FOD ""] 11/13 - Helmet at Axis in Boston. Helmet's back and I'm sure they'll be just as devastating as they were years ago. Real rock has returned! |
_________________________________________________ [Oct 19,2004 1:51pm - the_taste_of_cigarettes ""] helmet was one of my favorite bands from 7th-9th grade |
_____________________________________ [Oct 19,2004 2:01pm - RustedAngel ""] i put on the new helmet disc about a half hour ago... this shit is horribly weak sounding. ugh. NOTHING like Betty/Aftertaste. |
_____________________________________ [Oct 19,2004 2:02pm - RustedAngel ""] ps. new helmet sucks. |
________________________________________ [Oct 19,2004 2:19pm - Josh_hates_you ""] i love helmet. from what i have heard of the new disc it sucks. john tempesta sucks as a drummer compared to john stranier formerly of helmet currently with tomahawk and a touring club dj (go figure....) i could only go see them if they play with good bands(which i doubt they will) or promise to play all older songs. |
___________________________________ [Oct 19,2004 2:21pm - dreadkill ""] i am going to this show. helmet is one of my all time favorite bands. aftertaste was my favorite album by them, so i hope they play alot off that. i love all their albums, even the new one. it took me a while to get into it, but i like it. |
__________________________________ [Oct 20,2004 1:47pm - Mike_FOD ""] Helmet was down right brutal when I saw them live, yeeeears ago. I have to say, the new Helmet rules and is way better than Aftertaste. Size Matters has some songs that aren't the Helmet norm, but hey, so did Betty and Aftertaste and Betty just killed (though Meantime is their pinnacle). I think Size Matters is more of a "return to form" as compared to Aftertaste. Songs like Crashing foreign cars and Druglords are total Meantime-esque. Agreed that Stranier kills Tempesta; his beats and snare sound just cripple him. |
