For the record up till a month ago BOE only wrote for 4 people but now that we are a 5 piece band we now will be writing for 5 people we could care less what people think,like or want to here!!! as long as the 5 of us are into what we are playing it's all that really matters, everyone in this band has their own style and we try and use each others influences when we write a song but we never sit around going hmmmmm lets play like this cause people will like it" TOS- "everything we ever wrote was for ourselves, and if people don't like it, it's somewhat irrelevent as we did it for our own demons and hearts over anyone elses. At the end of the day, I have to lie down with these songs attributed to my name, my character, and my ability and I stand behind what I write 100%. These songs matter to me, they matter to Rowan, and they matter to Alex. when we spend that 20 minutes together playing we say everything as a collection of three people trying our hardest to remember what it means to be human, what failure tastes likes, and what all our successes have tasted like when we're through. The best thing that can happen, then, is if in that catharsis someone else felt something that made a difference to them and lets you know. If that happened, I am honored. If it didn't, if it didn't move you at all, then that is something I am more than prepared to hear." I was close, but in retrospect neither of us said those exact words. Whoever gave you that interview stole their stories from BoE and ToS, hands down!!!!! thieves amongst honest men!!!! |
