Isis - Panopticon[views:2958][posts:10]__________________________________________________ [Aug 31,2004 3:49pm - attendmyreqiem in maine ""] It has leaked and it's amazing. I feel bad that Neurosis's Eye of the Storm had to come out in the same year as this. I really do. |

That is the worst and most ignorant comment ever made. The Red Sea... the snare is loud and sort of high pitched. the recording was very raw, so what it was damn good. Celestial...amazing production. some fine work done by Matt Bayles at New Allience... snare was definitely put to the perfect gain stage. Oceanic... perfect production once again done by Matt Bayles. The snare sound on that CD definitely puts alot of bands to shame. Amazing delayed reverb on it too... so my question is... what the hell are you talking about? |

I'd say their entire career has been one big progression, topping all the material they've put out. I've only heard like 5 minutes of Panopticon and I can already tell that it will be one of my favorites of 2004. Dunno if it will top Oceanic, i'll just have to get the rest of it. |

__________________________________ [Sep 3,2004 9:16pm - Mike FOD ""] Well, as far as topping Oceanic goes... I dunno. As far as this material being good? It's quite amazing. They don't so as many of their signature chugging tidal riffs on this, but there's a lot more arrangements in the songs. Certain parts really remind me of the cleaner passages in Opeth (musically). ISIS has created lush/textured soundscapes that are quite subtle. The compositions are dream-like and moving. |
